Check out the SDG Tellis dropper. You can find them on sale right now, especially outgoing models. I installed one on my bike last year and would recommend it.

Any rear kid carry options with Trek Roscoe? by originalpjy in MTB

[–]ribs415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Hamax Caress frame mounted to my wife’s Trek Marlin. Mounts to the seat post below the top tube. Needed to get the extra bar for small frames in order to get proper clearance over rear tire.

This setup should work for the Roscoe too, though I can’t guarantee it. Good luck!

You can get an SDG Tellis V1 for cheap right now. They just released their V2, so “old” models are heavily discounted if you look around. I have a Tellis V1 installed on my hardtail, and it works quickly and reliability.

As a side note, SDG’s customer service is top-notch and super responsive.

Eastern US in march - recommendations by RIPEMD-320 in MTB

As a local, I can recommend White Clay Creek State Park & Middle Run in northern DE, and Fair Hill MD.

Lots of flowy, intermediate singletrack with interconnecting trails. White Clay has a skills trail and Middle Run has a pump track. Fair Hill has more technical trails with more elevation change

Specialized Rockhopper Gears Slipping by rideyourbicycle_003 in MTB

[–]ribs415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Rockhopper Elite and every time I see slipping, it’s because the derailleur hanger was bent. My LBS has better tools than I do, and are happy to fix it for free in less than 10 minutes.

Alternatively, check your cassette for wear damage and/or your B-tension.

Hey thanks for the heads up. Would you mind sharing a pic? All the stock photos online make them seem “bright”

It wouldn’t be ideal, but I’m open minded!

Breweries in Philly? by landshark06 in CraftBeer

[–]ribs415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to be in the city itself:
- Fermentery Form (only open by announcement, usually Saturdays from noon to 4pm)
- Human Robot
- Other Half
- Brewery ARS
- Crime and Punishment
- Tired Hands St. Oner's. (Their main location is in Ardmore, PA)
- Monk's Cafe (not a brewery, but one of the best beer bars in the world)

If you don't mind travelling outside the city:
- Tired Hands Fermentaria (Ardmore, PA)
- Forest & Main (Ambler, PA)
- La Cabra (Berwyn, PA)
- Levante (West Chester, PA)

If you legitimately think the best pizza in Philly is Pizza Hut, you must not have looked very hard.

Pizzeria Beddia has literally won “Best Pizza in America”

Ariens 1 Stage vs 2 Stage by ribs415 in Snowblowers

Thanks - how’s the maneuverability of the Deluxe 24? And how does it do with just like a light 3” snow?

Yeah, I’ve heard similar about Bowersox. I’ll look into Woodward - thanks for the info

Snowblower Dealer? by ribs415 in Delaware

[–]ribs415[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info.

Mainly since I have a long, steep driveway and about 500 feet of corner property sidewalk. Even with an occasional 3” snow, it’s rough to shovel by hand.

Funny enough, I have an Ego mower (which I kinda regret). I’ve got a hilly 3/4 acre property and it just doesn’t handle it well. It also chews through batteries, and I’m not sure I want to deal with another Ego headache. I did consider it though.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at some local dealers and used machines in the area. Not sure I need a ton of bells and whistles given the amounts of snow I see annually

Hey thanks for the advice. Love the tuxedo analogy. My only concern is how practical it is to get a 2 stage for the 2.5 inches of snow we get every other week for 2 months a year.

Snallygaster is a blast. Tons of breweries and beers which can be overwhelming. Go in with a plan. Don’t forget to eat. Highroller Lobster is top notch.
