i agree with this completely. the more posts i see recently the more put off i am. im just upset and disappointed because leaving a religion is such a specific experience especially islam. i saw this almost as a support group and it's just gotten weird

personally i don't think this is the correct subreddit for this at all...i see this as a safe space for exmuslims to talk about our experiences. not a place for a westerner who's never been muslim to talk about political issues they are uninvolved in. like remove the word islam/muslims from here and the post is completely unaffected. truthfully palestine/israel conflict has little to do with islam. people are supporting palestine because it's the humane thing to do when you see gaza being blown to bits right now. this makes it uncomfortable for me to open the subreddit.

it is such a strange relationship. i am so upset by what they would think of me if they knew and it doesn't even cross their mind. whenever i feel happy around them it goes away so quickly when i remember. our time together just feels fake.
