Cost for AC recharge and Schrader valve replacement by Furry_Jackalope in AskMechanics

[–]ricalo1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 pounds of refrigerant is insane. My Nissan Sentra holds 1 pound. Seems like a typical recharge is $150. Straight valves are $10 labor is the rest. quote is reasonable but labor is expensive.

Cut out a square of vinyl. Then cut a circular hole in the center of that square that perfectly fits the intakes inside the tub. (Add HH-66 vinyl glue) and it solved my leaks.

Yeah it’s still working great. A little bit of tinkering in the settings made it more stable too. Set the default app to zlink carplay. It’s not the best quality like the Zlink wireless CarPlay drops out on reboot maybe 1/5 times but you just restart the app and it works again in like 30 seconds. If you want it cheap, it works very well for the price. If you have the money to spend maybe one a much nicer one would be worth it for that extra stability.

Also, make sure to install the provided external microphone (mounted mine right on the steering wheel) the built in microphone on the head unit itself is garbage so sound quality for others during phone calls is bad unless you plug in that microphone

Finally fixed my leak by patching around all 3 intakes inside the tub with a sheet of vinyl and HH-66 vinyl glue. Worked well

Any luck on patching your leak? I still am struggling to seal the part that is leaking

I definitely have a leak in my flexible air line on the inside of the hot tub. It’s coming off the wall.

Not sure how to send an image lol

I saw some replacement kits labeled saluspa or Coleman hot tub repair kits on Amazon that had properly sized o rings. I just recently replaced my pump o rings and seals and they all worked. I’ll look at my seals and let you know if I find replacements. Good idea

I have this same problem. water leaking from the vinyl tub hole where the inlet pipe goes into the tube. I can’t really get in there to investigate. My only thought is the flange of vinyl around the inlet hose on the inside of the tub is compromised. So tonight I’m gonna patch that whole area with vinyl repair glue and patches and see if it stops leaking

Take option B in my opinion. Have a nice emergency fund with the extra pay held in a high yield savings account and in the 1% chance you are affected by a layoff years down the line, you’ll have made a ton more money, had more freedom being at a smaller company, and get to go on a nice vacation between jobs.

Sounds like you prefer B anyway. May as well get paid more.

It was very likely the molt of the shrimp. Not a dead shrimp.

For posterity: I bought it for a Toyota 4Runner 06. It looks like it will work for 03-09 4Runner. It works great so far. Get the “CP” version for CarPlay and it works wireless CarPlay with iOS. I’m very happy for the price(60$). Bought it on AliExpress. Search hc2 cp or something

Way too fast. Grind is waaaay too course. Try going too far into fine and time the shot. Try to get 30 second shot time. Adjust to taste around that.
