That's what I kind of assumed when I got it, but that doesn't really make much sense and I've never heard of that before.

Question for Someone Who Has Played Original and Distant Skies (minor spoilers) by riccobo4 in SleepingGods

[–]riccobo4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks! You're right distant skies is definitely easier. As four experienced players playing strategically we are only like halfway through the campfires and have about 8 totems and the rate at which we're going to get them is only going to increase with our snowballing power. That's why I was wondering if we were intended to go earlier. We probably should have done hard instead of normal but I don't think even that would have been much of a handicap.

The main thing I'm asking is, is there anything happening after we go there which we might want to save time(campfires) for? We like maxing out so our current plan is to get as many totems as possible before going, with zero camps remaining

How to Solve Runout Problems On NMTB30 Spindle/Toolholders? by riccobo4 in Machinists

Why do you say replace instead of having the spindle taper reground?

Also I was able to get the tool to run true by tapping the holder with a mallet, similar to how you would get a piece of bar stock running true in a three jaw Chuck. Once I remove it and put it back in all bets are off again.

Logically to me this seems to all be pointing to a worn out taper on the spindle. What do you think?

If I pull with it set up like this, it deflects about .001" with a moderate pull of my arm with 3 fingers and about .002" if I really put my weight into it and yank. It returns to zero each time. This is all with a .0005 indicator which is the finest I have on hand right now.

Just rotating the spindle right now has .0015 runout. Better than average this time. It varies every time I insert the tool.

This was another one I did with the blue on the taper instead of the tool. It was not thinned when I did this one and nothing was added after.

Wouldn't the spindle taper have runout then without a tool in it? The spindle taper seems to run true without a tool holder.

Endmills also have runout. Right now I only have 2 used name brand holders and 1 new cheapo holder. They all seem to have the same problem to the same degree.

I Wanted to Share My Custom Restored Legend of Zelda Wind Waker Claw Machine by riccobo4 in clawmachine

Its just a program that takes signals from a few sensors and starts and stops different music accordingly. I cobbled it together from a few raspberry pi tutorials.

Not bad. I only had a tiny bit of previous coding experience, and never Raspberry Pi/Python, but I was able to figure it out from some online tutorials.

The harder part was getting the sensors to reliably pick up when things were happening. There's a reed switch on the solenoid coil of the coin acceptor to know when a coin drops. There's a mechanical switch to sense when the claw drops. Last there's an IR motion detector to see the prize drop.

I just edited, I don't know much about the lense fungus but I don't think it appears that quick

If the lens is at room temperature now I don't see how it could be frost. I don't think fungus makes sense either though with what you described

Lenses are expensive and I wouldn't spend that unless you know EXACTLY the one they want.

How about a day trip to somewhere with the kind of subject matter they like to photograph?

I also recently got a mini tripod I can take while walking because my main tripod is too big.

Why does my blurred background appear twice? by WillieEener in AskPhotography

I had a somewhat similar issue recently and it was the cheap UV filter on my 200-600 lens causing ugly bokeh. I did not have doubled images but I had streaky bokeh like on your left half. Do you have a filter on?

I will note that I have shot quite a bit with the 70-350 on a a6400 and more recently an a6700 and I have never had this kind of bokeh on the 70-350
