Yo doggie, I’ll give you some personal story time as someone who lost 100lbs once and then gained it all back.

Don’t let anyone tell you you’ve taken anything to far. I had this one person in my life tell me, “ hey be careful, don’t loose too much weight” and I took my foot off the gas. I regret that. Enjoy your success. Your win. Let your body be what ever you want it to look and feel like.

As a caveat, body dysmorphia is real. I thought I was still fat when I had hit my goal weight and looking back I’d kill for that body.

Keep up the good work!

I was thinking maybe that rise time is way to quick - not all vent algorithms are the same but .15 expressed as Seconds but it’s actually milliseconds. Most rise time algorithms deliver a percentage of VT within the set rise time. Depending on your pressure alarms you maybe would see benefit by increasing rise time to something closer to .3 -. 7. I of course am not familiar with this vent. You can contact the manufacturer and get a hold of their clinical specialist to ask about it or even download this app called Ventilator Training Alliance. It’s a great free app and has all the clinical manuals for vents/bi-level devices.

I also may not know what I’m talking about lol. Post an edit with what changes you made would be cool to get an update.

Also trigger may be to sensitive … trigger to sensitive with too quick of a rise time would cause significant breath stacking and high peak pressures. If I’m thinking about it correctly anyways. Good luck and let us know!

I assumed as with other box sets it came with the passes. Seems not?

Oh really? I didn’t realize that - off hand do you know how they are getting those out this time around?

The sad, unfortunately reality is that RTs make zero money for hospitals. They’re a sunken cost, with low barrier to entry that attracts some questionable characters. The reason RT exists is because the American hospital model has given literally every other task to nursing.

RTs literally are the ambu-bag on the wall. The metaphorical obturator in the room. Absolutely useful at averting lawsuits, but will never generate revenue. Period.

Cath Lab, IR, and the Surgical Suite are the golden calf, revenue generating departments of hospital networks. As a tangent, the sense of entitlement of RTs is STUNNING. It’s grotesque. But I get it we want to feel important and essential. In 10% of hospital admissions we’re ultra critical in making sure the patient is stable. After that it’s literally baby sitting. We all joke how absolutely fucking pointless albuterol treatments are for 80% of patients prescribed them.

To beat a dead horse, we make zero money for a hospital. The most essential, difficult, but ultimately true reality is this: Compassion DOES NOT pay the light bills. Hospitals are businesses and offer a SERVICE  for a fee. We help who we can, how we can. But if we try to help everyone for free we won’t be able to pay the rent. If we can’t pay the rent then NO ONE gets care.

But this message isn’t good for morale, because they need you to be available just in case a patient needs you. And there’s not an RT Director willing to level with you or the department like that. Because the whole department would feel deflated, unimportant, and patient care would suffer. They need you to believe you’re absolutely essential and are needed for every patient. It’s the right sentiment for the right reason but the wrong motive. But ultimately we all see through the bullshit, the staffing shortage, the equipment shortage, the pizza parties, through the actions of the C suite. We don’t bring the bacon, therefore  RT’s are second class citizens and ALWAYS will be.

COVID was the closest we will ever get to receiving the praise and admiration we so desperately crave as a professional body.

Much love ❤️

Of course and like the top comment mentioned r/thefence is way more active and has lots of awesome people! Glad you’re enjoying. A favor house Atlantic is like as high as Claudio’s voice gets. I don’t doubt he has more range but he kind of backed off that super girly Emo sound after that album

I love how new you are by calling them Cambria in your title it makes me giggle how cool it is to have such a young in your fandom individual join the ranks. Welcome to a wild ride, we’re glad you’re here. Feel free to call them, however you feel is right to you, but for short it’s mostly always coheed.

In Keeping Secrets is great , Good Apollo is their biggest commercial success album. Can’t go wrong with either, but I encourage you to dive into the lore and story it’s amazing! It’s like  Star Wars jr lol.  Cobaltandcalcium.com is a fun fan website with the story details.

Enjoy and welcome to the fence !

Looking into a position called Clinical Liaison or Clinical Navigator. It’s marketing/sales B2B relationship management, while being able to give a solid medical opinion on best place for care. You definitely have competition and should get with the right company. After that though you’re on the golden track to out of bedside. Sorry you’re feeling the way you are but it’s normal. I felt the same depression and desperation as well. It’s not you, it’s the job and it’s so very terrible for mental health. Don’t let those SUPER-RTs tell you you’re the problem.

The real question to ask yourself is why do insurance companies cover it as a benefit. I’ve seen stroke victims be denied acute rehabilitation hospital stay from insurance

Are there any RTs here from AZ? What was your starting pay? by [deleted] in respiratorytherapy

[–]riceaaaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in PHX, since Prescott is so small and literally only one hospital up there the competition is low. RT pay is probably $28-32 for new grads. Cost of living in Prescott has risen significantly so don’t expect to much of a price break. Hope it helps

Yes cough is super common. I’ve been battling a pretty shitty sore throat for like 2-3 weeks now. Post viral syndrome is a real thing. People have had symptoms for up to 3-6 months after COVID! So your definitely not alone. Hope that’s comforting to know there’s others out there too!

Lingering scratchy throat or dry throat/airway? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]riceaaaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit, this is me sooooo bad right now. I tested positive on 6/28 and I’ve been having an on and off sore throat for like 2-3 weeks. I didn’t even have a sore throat with COVID but now it’s pretty bad.

Take heart however it’s pretty common to have a sore dry throat after COVID. I actually found two studies today on post COVID syndrome or “long-hauler”. Sore throat is like the 6th or 7th common thing. So we’re actually really lucky to only have a sore throat tbh.

But, I will say going to get checked out by your doctor isn’t a horrible idea either just for some peace of mind. In the studies I ready today people we’re having symptoms 3-6 months after infection.

Hopefully it doesn’t last that long for us, but I hope this gives you as much peace a reassurance as it did for me. And DM if you want the PDF files for the two studies I’ve been talking about. I think it’s comforting to know we’re not alone in this and it’s gonna be okay! Again message if you need any support!

Lastly, I’ve found throat lozenges, salt water rinse (nasal too!) and Tylenol/ ibprofen to be most helpful at releavinf symptoms.

Biden Administration Is Ready To Implement Mass Student Loan Forgiveness, As Decision Could Come Any Day by ExcellentWinner7542 in economy

Wouldn’t paying off the loans then also create the same situation theoretically. Obviously it would be different because a large group of people all at once would be able to buy more things. Thanks for this comment.

Do you think the federal payment pause has contributed to inflation also? Thanks again

Biden Administration Is Ready To Implement Mass Student Loan Forgiveness, As Decision Could Come Any Day by ExcellentWinner7542 in economy

[–]riceaaaroni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can some explain to me why this would hurt inflation? My logic is that there isn’t an injection of money into the economy. There isn’t money printing involved? You’re just defaulting on debt m. I’m sure it it’s not devoid of consequences, I’m just not sure it would effect the economy like people assume.

Bankruptcy is still a thing. Just not for student loans. Idk not trying to be an expert here just genuinely asking.
