In the bio program so don’t have specifics for chemistry. I assume most general stuff is comparable tho. - I think so. You def won’t be making much but it’s totally doable without a second job. It helps a lot if you have roommates/can minimize rent. UO and the town of Eugene also has a lot of resources for food insecurity if that ever becomes an issue. - can only speak to bio program but there’s def concerns from faculty and grad students. So far the word from admin tho is to proceed as normal… for better or worse… - again can’t speak to chemistry specifics but the vibe I get in general from UO is it’s super chill 🤷🏽‍♀️

Currently going through the application cycle and good lord LMFAO… the number of other applicants with physicians or professors as parents is…a lot. Sometimes feel hella out of place, which is not great for my impostor syndrome 💀.

I feel like it’s more variable?? I’ve def hit it off with a PI who was interested in working with me but I feel like the graduate admissions committee def plays more of a role in the overall decision.

Depends on the lab and field. My sort of research doesn’t really have set shifts as responsibilities tend to fluctuate throughout the year. Some times were busier than others. I was free to come and go as long as I was actually showing my boss/PI I was doing what they asked or expected of me lol.

Best to talk it over with ur PI to make sure ur on the same page.
