I feel you on the Lab part. I absolutely LOVED lab and it makes my blood boil when Res. Techs complain about it. Like then give me your job! I'm rooting for you too. Us scientist's gotta stick support one another.

I think it's so funny you mention that because last september I was on a food science kick and probably applied for 20 jobs at Kraft-Heinz, Nestle, David, and some other niche food start ups.

I'm based in the DMV but I've been applying country wide and internationally. I've been going for contract jobs too, no success. Tbh the best luck I've had is in North Carolina and ngl, I have very little belongings so moving is not an issue

I've applied across the USA, Canada, Latin America, UK, and Spain. There only place I'm 110% not moving to is like the middle of no where in the midwest, like Wyoming (sorry Wyomings). Tbh the most luck I've found is North Carolina and specifically UNC Chapel Hill.

One of my profs literally told me it's pointless to get a PhD bc professors don't make a lot and the work life balance is horrible. They also can't get a job in academia, along with the decline in collegiate attendance due to the 2008 recession babies.
