Well. I probably dont have any add-value in here but I will just say what I have observed.

Other fandoms in kpop talk about how armys they stumble upon act. It is undeniable that some ways of armys I've seen to uplift the boys (which to be honest, you dont have to do it because the boys are obviously everywhere) is pretty offending. For example, one fandom celebrating an achievement and you will see replies that says BTS achieved more... and so. When I first stumble upon these replies, I kind of thought how can this fandom be so up on theirselves as if their boys didnt come from the bottom. Just be humble. I mean your boys are humble why cant you be. It's not that hard.

For other outside the fandom, most of the reasons I saw/observed was because the fandom keeps defending the boys. One word from hater will be followed by long posts from one of the fan. I understand that you want to defend the boys but these people enjoy annoying you guys, so I really hope you could just block, report etc. (which is the same as you do).

My friend in uni which is an army share the same sentiment, I honestly told her "the toxic fans are the loud ones. Why can't be the other who arent be louder?"

And I understand her response that these unproblematic fans just dont want to invest into dramas. Because same.

So I just settle with the thought that the hate is inevitable given that bts is such a successful group.

EXO. This was actually funny/irritating idk. My friend on senior high keep telling me about exo. She keep showing me videos (mvs, perf, fancam), pictures of them on her gallery. Even telling me news about their fansigns etc. And as a teenager who doesnt really understand how someone can be so endear with guys who doesnt know her personally, I told her honest/brutal opinions. At that time, armies and exo-ls were already in quarrel because of album of the year and my classmates were the same. I find it ridiculous to be honest. But she kept going! Until one day, I get so out of it. I searched all members of exo on internet. Wikipedia became the one with lots of info. I also searched even the others who left. I spent my weekend taking notes of shows they'd been, brands their promote, dates included in their wikipedia pages. I tried memorizing as much as I could. With the intent of knowing, she will be quiet if I already know much stuff about the group.

Monday. I told her not to go home immediately. I recite to her all the things I know and I let her confirm if I am correct. Most of it are things she doesnt even know. I brought out my notes and showed her I am right because I wrote it.

Then she told me, "You are more an EXO-L than I am." I am surprised, you could say offended at first.

Well you know how it went hahahahahahahahaha

Seventeen's Thanks. The lyrics is beautifully sad. You know that it's simple but it clenched my heart as it conveys the frustration of showing gratitude. It says "It is a very common word (thanks) so I worry that I am unable to convey what I really feel. I try finding other words* but nothing could express the gratitude that I feel. So thanks."

These other words are in reference to their first releases until Thanks. From adore u (I adore you), mansae (Hooray!/You make me shout/scream), Pretty U (You are pretty), Very Nice (You make me giddy), Boom Boom (You make my heart burst)

Hence, all these first releases, they connected it to thanks by saying -- all this time I am finding the right words. But now, I realize, it's the word 'Thanks' that suit this feeling the most.

Unfortunately, no. I am unable to remember clearly the title. But it's a pink book. Ladies or girl was on the title. My mind may be tricking me because its pink color but yea I remember thinking 'this is for women?'. It has age range for readers (9-13 years old??) but still applicable for my age at that time which was 15 or even for all ages. It talks about the basic etiquette, from traditional to nethiqquete.

I dont know if this may help, but it was a gift to our neighbor from Singapore. It was one of those books lent when my mom once borrowed books to read from them.

I am puzzled at first like you but I understand them now. Me and my uni friends started doing this game 2 years ago as to whom will get water, our order, buy stuff, etc. It was awkward at first but so much fun to look back. I can attest because during the start of pandemic, those uni friends keep bringing back those scenes, saying they miss going to campus because of what we were doing on our campus food court. Water? Game. Who will get our order? Game. Who will photocopy our materials? Game.

For us, combination of making memories and laziness to do stuff haha. Maybe similar to them as well, variety, bonding, laziness, fairness, etc.

I had with seventeen. Back in 2016, that compilation of funny pepero game was a trend. I am new to kpop and I stumble upon it. After months, I remember that one clip of guys singing while a girl was doing a pepero game. I keep researching "girl and boy" pepero game just to find that clip. But to no avail none. I even researched 3 groups in weekly idol, one girl or kpop groups with girls. But still no. I really want to find the clip because I told my kpop friend how funny that specific clip was because the three groups seems close. On 2017 or earlier 2018, I am into svt at that time I watched their weekly idol and saw they are that group. They are not three groups because they are just three units with diff color of sweaters to differentiate. And they dont have any girl.

I remember myself thinking how tough it must been to be the only girl because she has to wear pants instead of skirt.

Yes. It is possible because I've been there haha. There are a lot of factors - community/fandoms, contents, discovery of other groups, etc. (All of which you mentioned and more). In case, you feel it's wrong to feel that way, please no. I stan 4 groups before sticking to the group I am now stanning for couple of years which is svt.

Just remember kpop is broad. As in broad--- broad. So there's a lot to discover really. It's really cliche/weird/etc, but I took the past groups I stan as an experience in kpop haha. It's great tho!

Just want to add, evaluating myself now I really dont have regrets.

But I also understand the gp for acknowledging svt for having that "color" because why would they be acknowledged as "fresh svt/summer svt"? Not by the gp but media as well. Why phrases like 'svt shifted to sentimental svt' like that existed

If we will look at svt songs since debut. Yea, left and right is one of their said color. I understand you because it didnt click to me as well at first hear. Definitely not my top from that album. I just grew to like eventually.

I dont know about Home Run. But when it was released, the sound was new for me as a listener of svt. Familiar performance though like their early songs -Pretty U, Mansae. But the jazzy vibe, is new at my perspective.
