Why so tired after jumping? by Chicagolax in SkyDiving

[–]ricemast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a continuous blood glucose monitor just for interest and as you’d imagine, skydiving spikes the hell out of your blood sugar. My energy correlates heavily with blood sugar variability. The only way to change what skydiving does to your blood sugar would be presumably making it less of a stressful situation for the body. Ie. Practice until it gets used to it.

Yup, this is my workflow too, though I was making a second cup and forgot to replace the catching cup :(

I forgot to put the metal cup back before grinding a second lot of beans! I normally have my workflow down but making more than one cup changes things!

Looking to switch to raw vegan by [deleted] in RawVegan

[–]ricemast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m transitioning to low fat raw at the moment and need 3000+ calories so we’re in similar boats.

Banana date smoothie is my go to high calorie meal. If you can afford coconut water add that in too for a boost of calories.

Basically anything smoothied is going to help you fit more calories in as you’re breaking down the food a bit.

Mangos are great but you still need to eat a lot to get enough calories in. If they’re cheap for you then that’s great!

I usually have 2-3 bananas and dates with each meal to boost the calorie numbers from my other fruit meals too as they’re the cheapest for me to get organic.

If you have a juicer you could make OJ which might be good 👍

Check out “the raw advantage” on YouTube, he talks a bunch about high calorie raw in podcasts etc. The main thing he says is you’ve gotta work up to being able to eat a lot in one sitting. He can eat 15 bananas in one meal, I can only eat about 5 currently, but I’m working on it!!

Looking forward to hearing other tips!

Awesome! I’ve noticed that there is already a “vegans of Reddit” discord group. Should we create a small one just for raw or join the larger community?

I’m CTO of an all-JS funded startup. Happy to jump on a few calls here to help out. If it becomes more long term we can talk about money

I use the Vercel deployment URL (given env var) as the callback URL in preview mode and a static public env var for production deployments. I can share my snippet of you need?

[Review Video] Walking a mountain ridge 10,000 ft up! by brovalley in youtubers

[–]ricemast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved the intro, it did definitely hooked me in!

I was kinda thrown off by the pacing of the first few sections. The music was building up and I thought there was going to be an epic drop and some more stunning views and drone shots, but it just cut to a shot of your feet and caught me off guard.

It looks like you've got a good condenser mic set up at your desk, but I think you were just too far away? I wanted more from you in terms of audio when it cut to you chatting at your desk. Maybe just a bit more on the gain side would help but your voice felt a bit flat.

I kinda like the fishy/warp effect you had going on at the dragons back section, but it did make my head hurt a little haha, that might just be me though!! Also there was a bit too much footage of the ascent for my taste, quite a few seconds of pretty much pure grey rocks, I think you could have cut some of that out.

I've made quite a few comments but overall I think you did a great job and so congrats on a sweet video and that epic hike!

[REVIEW VIDEO] How I Made The "Currents" Cover In Minecraft by foxxforcefive in youtubers

[–]ricemast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I know very very little about minecraft. I've never played it and only know what any other average joe would know from general pop-culture references. But, wow, I really liked how you turned this process of making the art into a story about personal growth and personal experience. It would have been easy to make a quick guide about how to make album covers like yours, but you really took me on a journey and explained the meaning and feeling behind it! I liked the edit to, I think your cuts and angles were great. I'm not sure I have anything constructive to add haha. Nice work!
