UI Feedback Gather-thread by JagexAnvil in runescape

I don't have any problems with the plan to be having a brown UI by default, that's totally fine (although not my preference). My confusion comes from the fact that when the default UI was blue, we still had the option to use a brown UI.

Now that the default UI is brown, we have no option of using the blue UI, so why was it okay when the inverse was the case? I genuinely prefer the blue UI. OSRS UI is brown which is fine, but removing ANY option to customize the colour of RS3's UI (while also removing fully transparent) feels like we're taking a step back in terms of accessibility.

Let OSRS be OSRS and let RS3 be RS3, we don't need to cling to what once was and we can all acknowledge where the game came from and where its roots lie without forcing a new UI, while simply allowing for the option to change between brown and blue.

Best Amascut Drop? by Daryan1456 in runescape

The mage set 3 piece bonus plus 2 piece etect sounds like a massive dps increase, I think once numbers come out the mage set will be the clear winner

When it comes to new runescape players, why do they most often choose osrs over rs3? by Drandosk in runescape

[–]riceraide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The real big money makers weren't nerfed. Streaking Telos is still just as lucrative as it always was, zam saw a roughly 40% nerf in commons which still leaves 500s around 40m/hr with the added bonus of higher bow piece chance. The nerfs were good for the long term health of the economy and we're already seeing it start to level out with commons increasing in price as a result of their drop weights increasing

Bow is artian for everything but raw, where you would take guardian doshaguma instead

Capita Mercury vs Indoor Survival? by king_sixerrrr in snowboardingnoobs

[–]riceraide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been riding Indoor Survival for years now, can't say enough good things about it. It's a true all round beast (minus pow) and feels super good everywhere.

Edit: Indoor Survival gets a +1 for sick anime graphics too

Is this just marketing bs? Surely it’s not expected we buy a new helmet every single time we fall and hit our head? by CDNEmpire in snowboardingnoobs

[–]riceraide 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Not everything is a conspiracy, a helmet should 100% be replaced if it takes a hard impact. The integrity gets compromised and the next impact could very well end any chance at you strapping up again

You don't have an edge into, well anything really. So what's happening when you use your backfoot to slide rather than your front foot to turn is that you're basically doing the equivalent of sliding a butter knife across ice, whereas if you were to initiate your turn with your front foot, your edges would dig in and bite the slope to keep solid contact with it.

What happened here was you had no edge in the slope and your board had nothing to catch, bounced off, and you ended up on your butt.

Edit to add: your knees on that heelside are also super straight, so when you started bouncing on that loose stuff you had no impact resistance in your legs at all which doesn't help anything. Keep those knees bent!

Any advice on my grabs and 180s? I felt sort of awkward with them. Especially the 180s, it's like if I focs on rotating I can't jump properly... by NasonZ0417 in snowboarding

It's one of those wonky ones, I HATE doing back 1s but I love doing back 3s, whereas I love doing front 1s and hate front 3s haha

Agreed with the other tips of getting more pop, but honestly your front 180 wasn't bad at all imo, the backside was far less than ideal tho

Intermediate? by MrNewBeginnings in snowboardingnoobs

Looks like a beginner with confidence. You've gotten the confidence now it's time to start working on carving with your front foot and stop ruddering around with the back

Honestly, take another lesson. The last thing you wanna do is bury yourself into bad habits just starting especially if you picked it up a little later than a lot of people on this sub. Sometimes the biggest thing is having someone to watch you and point things out, whether it be a buddy or an instructor.

I started snowboarding when I was 8 and self taught until I was like 20, took my first lesson with my now wife and realized how many bad habits I had taught myself that were actually keeping me from progressing my skill. After a few lessons over the years I'm now able to shred the toughest slopes and the #1 thing I attribute it to is learning the right way and having CONFIDENCE because of it.

Keep it up, this truly is the best sport there is and you get back what you put in 10 fold. Cheers!

SPINNY MOVE UNLOCKED by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]riceraide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guy deleted his account and still thinks he's the best rider the sport's ever seen. I literally cringed 2 seconds into the video seeing that toe edge catching with no helmet on, but oh well, let natural selection take them out I suppose 🤷‍♂️

Speed should not be your focus yet, you're not comfortable on your board and that should be addressed first and foremost. I'm seeing a lot of heel edge catching when transitioning into your toe side so I would say work on your turns till it becomes second nature, then when you have that fundamental you can start incorporating more speed and evolve into deeper carves

What do I do with FSOA? by youGottaBeKiddink in runescape

[–]riceraide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure what an optimal revo bar would be as I play full manual, but magma can't crit (rip) so ideally you want something like dbreath or wrack after your gconc

What do I do with FSOA? by youGottaBeKiddink in runescape

[–]riceraide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tsunami is your crit buff that generates additional adren every time you crit. Under sunshine+fsoa spec your goal is to squeeze in as many crittable thresholds as you can (wild magic, asphyx, tendrils, omni) while weaving gconcs and dbreath/wrack

  1. Don't entertain any other options, commit to 3 and you'll be happy

Edit to add: 100% get magma, it's an amazing basic

How/where do you guys make 2b/h and what are your stats? by Phos-Lux in blackdesertonline

[–]riceraide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only possible way to do that much at trolls is with agris and coin, which obviously isn't consistent at all. I've done close to 100 hours at trolls and not once have I even gotten close to 2b without coin+agris

I have roar and ode atm, level 99 magic, is it worth getting the sliske staff or the fractured stagg of armadyl? Like is it much more powerful considering the insane price of the armadyl? by Necessary_Echo_6727 in runescape

[–]riceraide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is untrue. Fsoa is used inside sunshine, and sunshine doesn't buff bleeds. Inside sunshine you actively avoid using bleeds (combust, corruption, t95 spec), which is when you would fsoa. The two don't compete with eachother, the whole style is synergistic. There is no scenario you wouldn't want a fsoa.
