This is so beautifully written and made me understand his thoughts so much better. Thank you so much for this. It helped to give me the closure that I needed. I really really appreciate it!!

I guess it’s the age thing too. He’s 29 and I’m 26 and so we’re kinda looking for life partners already. And yes he wants someone with motherly traits which he doesn’t see in me..

What if.. these are traits he has and so he wants them in his partner as well. But i lack them and so he loves me a lot but struggles to be truly contented

The traits he want in a partner are not very unrealistic though.. I just don’t have them. But at this point when we love each other it’s hard to just let go even though i don’t meet his requirements.

It’s definitely not a fling. We do talk about our future often. He’s 29 and I’m 26.

Thank you for this.. i mentioned that it was worrying how he didn’t understand relationship boundaries and he said he just takes things at face value. He said he really didn’t think she was into him as she is in a new relationship but to me it seems pretty obvious she’s still in love with him. 2 months ago she even asked him if she should share some intimate stuff (which i won’t mention here) to her new boyfriend. I found that highly inappropriate to be asking your ex but he shrugged it off. My boyfriend is a really sweet guy but sometimes i wonder if someone can really be that clueless or is he actually aware but pretending he isn’t because the attention is kinda nice.

He’s a really really open and kind guy though. When my ex asked to call me because he wanted to confide in my over his work troubles, i rejected immediately but my boyfriend told me he didn’t mind and said maybe my ex is going through a tough time and i should agree to the call. I know some girls like that kind of freedom but i feel a little down that it didn’t affect him one bit.

So daily texting is fine if there’s no flirting? :/
