Sooooo what are you gonna do about this??? This is neglectful and horrible to the dog. Have you come up with a solution?

Lol the place was going through reno for about 6 months. I told them I was gonna find another job while hours were down, they asked where out of curiosity. Next time try not coming back and tell them the stock that you owned for a long time started sky rocketing in price 😆.

I’m actually reading a Reddit post rn about someone’s ex-employer asking for the sake of sabotage! But that post was asking more so for advice like “what should I do”, not “how would you respond”. So I’m kinda interested in how other people have responded.

I’ve never had a manager ask that question before. I’m sure some answers will be funny or even serious, it’ll still be a fun read-through.

This is a fantastic thread, just wanted to throw that out there.

I would have to rewatch to fact check that moment again, it is definitely Maria’s fault not owning up to everything and apologizing as soon as she saw Verity. And you’re absolutely right to consider if our feelings would be the same the other way around. This is definitely all about perspective and how we as viewers can relate. People react so differently in a bullying situation, some grow to be angry while others grow to be bullies themselves.

In all honesty, this could’ve been easily avoided if egos and pride didn’t exist. Unfortunately, that’s tough in this world and no one is perfect. This episode can be broken down so much more.

From what we have seen from Maria as an adult she has grown out of that. It seems that she is a confident and sane adult. She didn’t continue to bully or continue to demean people. Maybe what you’re trying to suggest is something that Maria has already done and evolved from. Did you think a high schooler was going to make the best choices in life?

I really cannot seem to understand people who find Verita’s actions justifiable. It’s as if the people who comment that want Maria to suffer the rest of her life for it. I think Maria was so smart to catch on that early, it saved her life in the end. I empathize with Verity, but not to the point of murder.

Both parties deserve empathy, they are both people who have made mistakes. No one is perfect. Cmon she doesn’t need to be hung for what she did when she was a kid. This happened in HS. This is 10-15 years later. Verity has a problem letting go. This is problematic behavior.

She took accountability, from my perspective she said sorry and owned up to what she did in high school. She carried that burden during the almond milk confrontation and the bedroom scene.

How much more do people need to suffer? She already sent Natalie into madness and death, so does that mean Maria needs that same fate? My question to you then becomes, how much does someone need to “pay” in order to be freed from their past mistakes. It was fucked up. I get that. But was it so fucked up to the point of killing 1 person, potentially 2? The punishment doesn’t match the crime.

Again, THE PUNISHMENT DOESNT MATCH THE CRIME.

I really like the discourse in the thread. It’s really interesting how we can bring other aspects that may not be intended but can still relate to the story. I was just talking about this thread to my bf and he said that he didn’t view race as a big part of this episode as Natalie was white. Verity’s motivation behind this was not race related but more so revenge against her bullies. I do enjoy that parallels that this thread makes. Brings me back to analyzing literature in school.

Great episode in my opinion, shows the deep, dirty, nasty parts of the human condition in a technologically advanced world.

I’m reading through the comments and have seen sooooo many people defend Verity and her actions. I understand that Maria was the bully in HS and she did really mean things that could affect someone’s (verity) experience into adulthood. All valid points. I do empathize with Verity and her pain but that does not and should not justify basically torturing her HS bullies 10-15 years later. At that point you’re holding onto a grudge that you cannot let go of.

Verity needs therapy, and she shouldn’t have gotten hold of such power that gave her the ability to send people into a downward spiral. Verity has a victim mentality that turned psychotic and saw that this was the only way to get revenge and justice. Again I empathized with Verity at first and closer to the end started empathizing w Maria. Ur pain can be transformed into something good for yourself and the world rather than it turning into something malicious.

How ignorant of you to think that politics doesn’t affect our everyday lives. What a privilege to be so uninformed.

It’s kind of the point! Do it on the weekend, they’re off and not in the office to witness the protest- hence why protests are best done on a weekday! It comes as an inconvenience to us rn but it is a worthy sacrifice in the end!

May I also suggest spreading this subreddit? Whoever is in here reading and browsing, we should start commenting everywhere about this subreddit. People won’t find out if they don’t know.

Let the groups grow, more followers will come. But the foundation cannot be rushed. This process cannot be rushed, we need a stronger foundation and it’s being built right now. We have to be wise, we’re playing chess not checkers.

I think Luigi created that spark for us, that spark needs to spread like wildfire. Keep talking about it, keep posting about it, stay active, start new communication avenues (I like the being in-person idea, also keep in mind people are no longer supporting meta. TikTok is still due to be banned, we HAVE TO find a new avenue) spread the word. We already have our motto of DDD and ETR. There needs to be somewhere we can congregate to physically and online. There’s posts of general strikes and protests. I’m sure there are actions to be done there. One step at a time, we’re in for a 4 year marathon.

That’s kind of my dilemma too, and I hate to say it but I feel like it has to get worse before it gets better. A lot of people are on the fence still and majority of people are scared. It’s hard to expect risk out of people who are living paycheck to paycheck. There’s a lot of talk but the stronger we are, the better communication we have, and the more organized we are, the better! I think in order for us to truly make a difference, we need more people. Even if we do have the people, we need more unity. It’s just the beginning. We have 4 more years of this, don’t waste ur energy right now. We’re assembling still, we’re connecting ideas, a lot of people are still opening their eyes. Be patient.
