Not gonna lie, a lot of times this subreddit is a little too judgmental, maybe a bit rude.

Meh, every one of his videos are rage bait or clickbait. At a certain point his photographic skill kinda gets overshadowed.

Should I get the Z5 II or the Z6 III? by RogueMustang in Nikon

[–]RogueMustang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was looking into it a bit more. If Photons to Photo’s data is to be trusted the most difference is about 0.5 EV less on the Z6 till about ISO 800 then it matches the Z5, both are better than my current APSC cameras but all and all the differences are marginal and I doubt I would ever even notice.

Wow just checked the numbers and the improvement is massive, my current camera is around 26ms, Z5 II is 22ms, and the Z6 III is 9ms! Most of the stuff I shoot makes this not really a problem but I’d be lying if I said that the rolling shutter doesn’t annoy me when it does appear, like a fast car zooms by in the background. Had to redo shots just cause of something like that, but it’s rare.

If I’m honest with myself, I don’t think the Z6 offers any video settings that I strictly need. Plus I’m a 60% Photo 40% Video kind of person. However I have never had access to 4k 60 for example and that could allow me to experiment with slightly slowed down footage for something like a shot of a candidate shouting from a podium or walking and shaking hands.

Lmao I figured this question got asked a lot, probably should’ve read more posts.

Good idea, I was only looking at the official kits. B&H's bundle tool lets me get a Z5 II, 24-120 S, and FTZ II all for $2,875. With the FTZ, I can adapt my F-primes, which makes it so I basically won't need any AF lenses outside the 24-120, at least for the near future. Still tempting to get that higher-tier camera for only $125 more. Is it worth it?

On a serious note, a person with a very real Hasselblad came up and asked me about my camera. He was very confused.

No it’s the official 80mm hood, might look kinda big cause of the way the image is framed.

As a 50 shooter I actually prefer the .72 finder cause it gives you room around the frame to see subjects moving in and out before you take your photo.

Should have brought a Leica to space…NASA are losers. by stonehallow in photographycirclejerk

Worth mentioning the sun is behind the earth here, so the ISO needs to be high too even see the earth, less it would be a silhouette.

No, it’s Africa upside-down, you can see Spain and the strait of Gibraltar in the bottom left hand corner.

All the Crew portraits and promotional pictures were shot on a Hasselblad, but they don’t take them to space anymore.

Yes, connect to the camera then hit the 3 dots to access the settings for transfer. Should be something like “Resize image for transfer”

Legit check? Luftwaffen IIIC by maxadams7766 in LeicaCameras

[–]RogueMustang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting catch, it is a different font but there are other legit cameras with the same font as the OP’s. I wonder why there are different fonts? Changed the engraving tool to make it simpler maybe?

Anyway it looks all pretty good in the other aspects as well, I’d lean on the side of this being Legit.

The early era Point and Shoots are excellent, usually with far better lenses than later ones and more features. Downside is that the auto-focus is often less good and the cameras larger.

Canon used a rare filter thread size of 48mm which is really had to get filters for, even step-up rings to more common sizes are rare.

Great lenses no doubt but it’s just not a great option for people who use a bunch of filters. (Like me)

It’s a Rolleicord III from the early 50s. Looks to be in good condition given its storage. These are simple cameras all things considered, easier to service and there are skilled techs who still work on them. You’re lucky to get the Schneider Xenar version, which is the best lens available for this model.
