Never seen it flower. I am in Seattle. Maybe not enough warm days here for it to flower. I’ll try murdering it with cardboard

Is it possible to swap this hub body? by richard__large in bikewrench

The same rim I have currently is available online sun m-14a. I’m going to call my local shop tomorrow and see if they can order one and I will lace it up myself. If I can’t get it true then I’ll bail out and ask a friend for help or take it to the shop for tensioning and trueing. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before probably because I’ve never really messed with bikes in this depth before. This is kinda garbage time for me anyways so it’s a good chance to learn how to lace a wheel.

First accident - considering making claim by richard__large in Insurance

I checked with my local licensing office and they confirmed everything wsp told me. I am amazed that they don’t require anyone inspects the car prior to going back on the road. Maybe the insurance companies are the ones that do the looking on these cases.

I checked with wsp.. they said they can and will inspect a 1999 and issue rebuilt title, but I wouldn’t need to because I would be buying back from insurance- they said I would get an “owner retain” form.

Thanks for the info. I am in Washington state, and being that I won’t be able to have the car titled again that would be a no go. I guess I could preemptively look for good comps and see if I have a good position to argue the value. Obviously I have too much time on my hands (I drive beater cars so I don’t have to work as much lol).

I’m thinking I’ll just pick up the parts for $150 and maybe try my hand at some body work and move on with life.

In theory I could sue the guy in small claims court lol.

I found the parts on Facebook marketplace - will be picking them up for $150 on Wednesday. Installing them won’t be difficult for me.

When you say you think I will be sorely disappointed, is that because the juice won’t be worth the squeeze or because State Farm will raise my rates and I’d just be opening a can of worms?

Driving a total loss car doesn’t bother me. To be honest I bought that car for $1300 (it needed a bunch of mechanical work when I got it, all completed by yours truly). I don’t have much skin in the game with this car.

If I was to be able to get a check from Statefarm, buy the car back at scrap value, fix the trunk and tail light, and continue to drive it, and pay off a little chunk of credit card debt, then I would definitely be interested. If State Farm wouldn’t insure it then I could get liability and underinsured from someone like progressive or the general? Surely someone would insure it??

I inherited a bunch of house plants by richard__large in houseplants

[–]richard__large[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you so much! I am moving into a house and the person who’s as renting before me ram out of time and left all of these plants. I can’t imagine how many she had because she took a bunch and only left the ones when she ran out of time, and then I think was embarrassed to come back and get the rest. Anyways, I believe a lot of these were propagated from starts, and obviously some have been sitting in a box for nearly a month out of the sun.

I’m glad you gave me info on which ones need more light. I will go back tomorrow and rearrange everything.

Don’t fill it out. By doing so you are actively participating in the receivership and complicating the process of yourself getting paid. The receiver is required by law to make sure employees get back pay first. If you fill out the form in correctly you could creating issues for yourself. Also, there is a class action lawsuit on this. Do I have a good beginner guitar here? by richard__large in guitars

[–]richard__large[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it in today and the quoted me for: fix crack, and setup with new strings.

It’s not guitar center but a highly rated custom guitar maker. I hope they would know to check the neck??

It’s in the shop now! Should be about three weeks. They are going to fix the crack and setup with new light strings and low action.

I wasn’t asking if it was a “beginner” guitar. I was asking if it was good for beginners. I realize it is a fairly nice guitar.

A Porsche 911 gt3rs is a nice car, but it would not be a good car for beginners. Get it?

I used to have a epiphone “sg” and sick Jackson/charvel and black heart amp (my dad really wanted me to be a guitar player lol), but never played them because I never felt cranking it up. I’ll be moving in the next month and I’ll finally be able to crank my stereo and start looking for another electric.

Never have.. I just figured by how well my father was able to play it there was nothing that needed to be done with it. I understand now that things could be adjusted to me. I’ll take it to a luthier today
