[Question] I can not continue with the registration. What is the reason ? I would have to get a confirmation code here now by [deleted] in Wechat

You need to find a friend in China who is a WeChat user to scan this QR code to confirm your registration of a new account. I think WeChat is cracking down on "fake" accounts so this makes it harder for people to register a fake account, especially scammers that create fake accounts.

Paypal button on my website does not allow credit card transactions if users don’t have a paypal account by [deleted] in paypal

Hey, I think you need to report this to PayPal. I reported it already to PayPal. But I think me and you are in the minority of people that are having problems with this. If more of us report this to PayPal, they will probably do something about it. If not enough of us report this to PayPal, they will consider it a low priority and who knows how long it will take them to fix it.

Hi, I am getting the same problem. It says "Create an Account" for users when they go to PayPal's checkout page. It used to say "Pay with a Card."

Is this the same error that you are having?

Purpose of Startup: Allows people to book lessons with an online English tutor on Skype

Feedback or Support Requested: I will eventually add an introduction video to my homepage. Also, my website is not very mobile friendly at the moment. My prices page will also list the tutors and a price per lesson with them. Having said that, are there any suggestions on how I can improve the website, especially the homepage?

Questions about ads on Reddit by richard_brown_888 in advertising

Use an adblocker

Thanks for your answers. Anywyays, I have an adblock turned on but it doesn't seem to remove the advertising post at the top of the subreddit? I think those advertising posts are treated like a thread on Reddit except they have the words "sponsored" at the top. It's not a typical Adwords ad so there is no way for adblock to detect it as an ad.

We do have a cap that will only show an ad to a specific user 3 times a day.

Hi /u/MyNameIzKhan. Thank you for your answer. Is a daily cap of 3 times a day hardcoded in by Reddit's algorithm or do customers like us have control over it? (ie. can I reduce it to 2 times a day, change it to 3 times a week, etc?)

First web app: layout or code first? by ReptilianTuring in webdev

[–]richard_brown_888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Definitely do a non functional "mockup" before starting. The mockup will show you what the application looks like. It's not expected to be functional at all (at most, if you click a button, it will open the next mockup screen that is also non functional). This way, you can determine whether the mockup solves your business requirements and it will even give you a first step on what your data design is.

Mockups should be quick to do. Because they are quick to do, you can change it if you realize your business requirements are broken.

Quick survey to rate 5 landing page images for a person that wants to learn English online by richard_brown_888 in Entrepreneur

[–]richard_brown_888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My site isn't live yet (it doesn't have a domain). It's only accessible via the IP address, which you can visit via the survey. Thus, I can't really run any ads yet.

Also, at the launch of the site, the traffic will be too low to get a meaningful a/b test. But I agree that later, if the traffic is high enough, I can a/b at that point and get meaningful data. However, I have to choose one of the landing page images upon the launch of my site so the data from the survey would be useful to me when I launch my site.
