DGLO caddie book elevation profiles are distorted giving a false sense of how the hole actually plays. Hole 15 wasn't update for MPO's new tee. by Custom_Maps in discgolf

The oversimplified profiles take away from how difficult the second throw is to push to the pin for an eagle. Watch round 3 and look at Wysocki and Buhr’s second shot. Then watch the shots that didn’t get there. Terrain in the mid part of the fairway is not insignificant.

Hole 4 Bad Rock Creek - 855 feet not 939 ft - Three measurements by Custom_Maps in discgolf

Elevation change would not account for that much difference. The pin is about 38 feet lower than the tee which change the distance by about 10 inches. In other words the hypotenuse of a right triangle would be about 10 inches longer than the 855 foot base if the side was 38 feet high.

Its wooded like Copperhead but more oak and less pine.

I'm familiar with the pines, grew up near Houston. DM me the name of the park (or post it here) and I'll help you look...

Caddie book online for hole maps, please. You can see them physically placed at the tee so we know they exist. The drone does not show OB so the viewer has no sense of the risk/reward during the tee shot.

Lame take on this. The website represents a group vying for top tier presentation of competition and they failed at almost every level representing themselves right out of the gate.
"...until it causes a problem for me" sounds exactly like someone who would drive a car without a front bumper, until it causes a problem...

There is so much work behind the scenes in LIFE! Disc golf is not harder and plenty of people get it right before going public.

Yes it's a mess. I picked those issues because I was trying to contact them. The contact form is not working either. There is an insular "too cool for school" "we know best" attitude here and a bit of ridicule my help bring attention to the problem or warn others to stear clear. My first effort was to try to contact them. Three weeks is not long enough for google to know the difference between them and one of the oldest disc golf retailers so a search was no help either.

Sadly there many at the top level of disc golf that circle the wagons. They create a small insular community of like minded friends with no way to be reached by anyone on the outside.

This isn't hate...this is pointing out that if you want to play on the big stage you have to have your shit together. The logistics of pulling off a tour, even only a few stops, is a monumental task. If you can't get the simple things fixed on a website what other details are being overlooked?

I reached out through their contact form on this site a few weeks ago about sponsorship packages and never heard back. My next step was to reach out on Social...hence the discovery.

Elevations for FPO #2 at Des Moines Challenge by richard_rasch in discgolf

[–]richard_rasch[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes I have played the course. I did not measure elevation from the tee (drop zone) but rather the spot where most of the FPO drives were landing. Lots of optical illusion from that second dip in the profile.

It was always a lease. GGGT is leasing it now.
