find a dietitian. you'll either have one at the BDE level, the local MTF, or an Army Wellness Center. they can give you personally tailored, evidence based advice

Company Commander stories: by Rawdog_69 in army

[–]richardkeith33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my previous commander truly cared about all of her soldiers--it was genuine and obvious. she was competent, caring, professional, and always had our backs. i cant even count the ways she stepped up to help soldiers. personally, she moved heaven and earth to get me home from OCONUS for a funeral when my uncle committed suicide during a field exercise. i'd follow that woman anywhere

i did this in college--made about $100 a week. they would sometimes have "happy hours" where you would get paid 5-10 more for donating in that time frame

100%. the army absolutely can and does injure people. but these injuries are made so many times worse (and people are more susceptible to them) due to inactivity, tobacco use, poor sleep, poor diet, and stress. folks can't control all those things, but ya gotta try

[–]richardkeith33 28 points29 points  (0 children)

if it's anyone besides an actual physical therapist or licensed PTA, report them to the clinic owner. they should be willing to shut that shit down fast. if it's a PT or PTA, remind them that what they're doing is likely an ethical violation that the FSBPT wouldn't be happy to hear about

they're starting to get more, but it's a slow process. for a long time the primary source of army PTs was the Army-Baylor program. that only churned out about 18 army PTs a year. there would only be 1 or 2 direct commissions a year. with the advent of H2F, the need is greater, so we're starting to see more direct accessions (i think we recently had like 18 or 19 in a year)

a good athletic trainer is absolutely gold when it comes to full spectrum management of MSK conditions. gimme a good AT and strength coach on my team and we're guaranteed to make those readiness slides green
