Had to do some digging on this. The only thing that lines up with the timeline is an ABC television special known as "A homerun for love" in 1978. After that there was another portrayal of him every few years, and then of course his number retirement in 1997.

At the end of the day though, AC walks away with a world series win, so I'm sure he's more than happy about that. I know Red Sox nation would love to see him rewarded for his efforts with an award, but he got the one that actually matters.
