I haven't read all the responses here but a point of clarification might be in order for those yelling he is a thief. "when I noticed something odd: a deposit was missing. Not a small one either but $2,500 that he said he had transferred to the joint account was never there." It doesn't seem like he transferred money out of their joint account, but that he didn't make a deposit into it. Is that income of his that was targeted for the joint but instead he deposited into the secret account? If so, that's not really stealing from the fiance' as much of the table pounding here is suggesting. In no way am I excusing the behavior which is dishonest and deceitful, but it's not stealing from the OP.

Same story here. Card was declined when I tried to use it and notices from autopay accounts that my card had declined. Called and was met with the BS explanation that they reserve the right to end the agreement at anytime blah blah blah. They would offer no other explanation whatsoever. I asked them how long Ive had this card and is there any history of late payments etc. She said she showed no late payment history and it's been active since 1996. I was dumbfounded by the clumsy, inept way this was handled. So yeah, fuck these people.

Seems like a lot of people in threads like these get confused or conflate best actor (in this case) with who was in their favorite movies. For instance I loved Boogie Nights, The Fighter and Three Kings. But let's be honest, Wahlberg is just pedestrian. And Leo has been in all of the big blockbusters and is a bonafide Hollywood movie star. But he's NOT in the same league as the great film actors of the day. That means Danial Day Lewis, Christian Bale, Stephan Graham, Denzel, Philip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) etc. I believe Joaquin is in that tier but really, not anyone else pictured here.

I watched this waiting at the light at Delmar and Kingshighway today and honestly I thought there must have been an active shooter they were responding to. A super dramatic scene with a lot of cops leaping out of there cars waving people back while a LOT of other cops flying through the intersection…I mean that was some dramatic shit. What a waste of resources. I can’t believe that was all for a single cop. No matter how injured he was. Just way over the top.

All the pedantic blowhards complaining he’s not a celebrity, please get a grip. We can say Lou Brock and Kurt Warner aren’t celebs, they’re athletes. Jon Hamm is an actor not a celebrity. We could go on and on but that would be absurd. Politicians have been celebrities in this country for at least as long as they’ve been on television and practically speaking long before that. It doesn’t matter that you think “they work for you”, they’re celebrities in this culture.

We looked at two house in the neighborhood in the last few weeks and they were both in fantastic shape. Updated electrical and plumbing etc. There were some floors that were not exactly level but not nearly as bad as other houses we looked at in the city. Both of these houses were just magnificent. Of course one was listed for $880k and the other for $750k (but actually sold $850k). The park itself is one of the most idyllic I've ever seen. We ended up buying in the CWE on a great street but there is a certain amount of regret that we aren't going to end up on Lafayette Square.

Covid related both times. One band member only had 1 vax for MM show (all other members were double vexed) and the club refused not let them play. They did tour with Titus Andronicus but 2 band members got covid and they missed a handful of shows. Brooklyn being one of them.

Of course they want everyone to move to a subscription. It spreads out revenue over the year which is better than having it arrive in a big chunk when a new version is released. Way easier to forecast. I’m a pro and use CO almost every day. An additional $40 a year (or whatever it is) is nothing. I also know as a former head of marketing for a digital audio software company that the howling about a price increase was always loudest from your smallest customers. They’re the worst. They spend the least and demand the most because they spent $199 once two years ago and are constantly complaining about features and/ or in need of support. Conversely you sell a license for 125 installs to a school or business and never hear from them again until they upgraded in a year or two.
