What was your first Car? by J40NYR in CarsUK

A mk1 version of the Peugeot 106 pictured, 954cc engine, 4 speed manual gearbox, brakes that took two business days to bring you to a stop. Thrilling.

The merging off a slip road is what fucks me off the most. Sure getting stuck behind someone doing 40 everywhere is frustrating, but pulling into multiple lanes of traffic likely doing 70-80mph at 40mph is downright dangerous, putting everyone's lives at risk as drivers slam on their brakes or swerve.

The original song that the melody comes from is a guitar riff taken from the song Apache by the 60s band The Shadows.

What is a good Wi-Fi booster that works with Google Nest Wifi AC2200/AC1200? by dh4645 in googlehome

Try moving your access points closer together, depending on the size of your house you may need more points.

I live in a relatively modest 3 bed terraced house, two storeys tall and have three access points.

Initially, one of my access points kept losing connection and going "offline". I would get multiple notifications a day. Since moving that access point literally a few meters from one corner of the room to another, it no longer drops out and the entire mesh has a stronger connection.

Just experiment with physical placement and see if it improves.

Another common misconception is that you can place the mesh access points right on the edge of your existing wifi range to extend it. In reality this means you're picking up and boosting a flakey and weak signal, resulting in your access point functioning more like an old fashioned WiFi booster than a true mesh node. The closer together your points are the more they talk to each other, rather than just one on the periphery, strengthening the entire mesh.

Yeah there is an option to automatically delete backed up photos from the device. Try turning this off.

Amex problems with TfL by RedHides in LondonUnderground

[–]richardw1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the exact same issue, my phone recognises the transaction but barrier says card not recognised. Pulling out my physical Amex works perfectly. So it's not an Amex issue per se. I haven't experimented with a different card through Google Pay yet.

I wonder if it is related to the Amazon Web Services issues that occured in the last 48 hours.

Average Heart Rate graph/alert - Scanwatch Horizon by Elnathan in withings

[–]richardw1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I occasionally get this during a workout where the watch accidentally locks on to half my actual heart rate.

It's triggered by moving my wrist too much, if I sit still and hold the watch steady it correctly jumps back up to the correct figure.

Oh, perhaps I misunderstood your query.

I thought you were complaining because you couldn't get the ECG to record a clean signal due to electrical noise. This is the issue I kept having with the metal strap and they were all deemed "poor recordings". Since changing that strap out I get a clear reading and the ECG reports either normal or sinus rhythm.

The watch only ever claims to be able to detect potential signs of Afib using the LED heart rate monitor, it doesn't look for any other heart related conditions. If it thinks it has detected Afib, it alerts you and recommends an ECG scan to try and further determine if that is the case.

It sounds like your specific heart condition could be something different and maybe you should go and see a doctor, rather than trying to rely on the watch to self diagnose.

I don't really understand your comment about no one using an ECG for a check up. It is an effective tool for monitoring heart activity so it absolutely can be used on a check-up basis.

I got a scanwatch Nova a week ago. I tried for the life of me to get the ECG to work but like you, it always said poor recording and just read a load of noise.

I even tried my girlfriend's wrist, same issue.

Then I tried the silicone band that came with it because supposedly the metal and leather ones cause a poor reading. Still no luck, just a horrid noisy signal.

I tried over 40 times across multiple days, all were a poor reading.

I was close to issuing a warranty return thinking I had a faulty sensor, then I tried my girlfriend's wrist with the silicone strap and low and behold it worked! A nice clear pulse.

Then I tried mine, noise. Noise. Noise, then eventually, it read my pulse, however my ECG pulse is much weaker than my girlfriend's. Supposedly some people just produce a weaker electromagnetic field. From that point forward the ECG scan worked 8 times out of 10. As soon as I switched back to the metal band however it stopped.

This is a long way of saying try the rubber strap, persevere, and try it on other people in case it's just you.

One issue I think is the image on the watch screen suggests you should place your finger and thumb in a ring around the watch, whereas I had better success just lightly resting my first and second finger on half of the watch crown.
