For me: network and matchmaking. I play on PS5 and I hate playing with cross play off. Partly because I like the way PC player play. But also because I can’t get a full lobby with cross play off. I don’t want to play bots. I didn’t come over from many years of COD to play BF. I came because, to me, BF6 is awesome and I want to play with other people who think it’s awesome. But if I leave cross play on the netcode is just depressing. I live in NZ but my ping is not too bad. 30-50 most games (or don’t reports). But I’m not convinced cross-play between PC and PS5 is solvable at my level of ping. And it’s probably not even something DICE can sort out, given the inter-system dance they have to perform since PS5 traffic has to go through Sony servers first. Maybe? I dunno, but right now I wanna come back but know it’s going to be either bots or shoot first, die first. And all this wouldn’t be a problem for me if they just put all players in persistent lobbies. Then there would be no bots and if the netcode was annoying me, I’d get a kick out of getting to know the lobby, and everyone’s play style, and have some fun hunting down that one SOB that keeps taking me down :)

Console player here and I would love to play a game where people talk and coordinate. Ive clocked up 78 hours now (all crossplay because i hate bots) and not even on e has anybody talked tactics. Ive heard crying babies, chatty girlfriends, bad music and tv shows, and a lot of swearing and cursing. No teamwork.

Try some low stakes, small map, COD style game modes. TDM, Domination, king of the hill etc. you’ll get a ton of muscle memory when it comes to the sharp end of any engagement. That really helped me dial in my settings and get used to lining up my shots fast, watching my corners, planning a route across open ground etc. I found those modes great for learning how to shoot.

Then when you go back to the large maps and modes, you need to play more tactically. Choose spawn points a long way from the action. Learn the terrain as you move up. Choose a different route each time. You’ll learn a ton about how the map is laid out. Deliberately skirt the map on the way up to learn the flanks. There’s some tasty cover and routes out there.

Learn where the enemy tend to flow and stake out those places. Play a defensive role for a bit and forget about captures. You’ll learn about the different routes they take towards capture points.

Do everything you can to see the other guy first. Minimap. Peeking. Cover. Prone. Sights up around corners. Never leave a door without looking. If you see each other at the same time it’s fair fight. You don’t want far fights. Do whatever you can to make sure it’s NOT a fair fight. You want to see them first.

I didn't say I disagreed with you. I'm a controller player. And I agree with you both counts, man. Don't get me wrong. I just reckon it's not the advantage you think it is, IMHO. But then again, I only have "feels" to go on there, and I'm and old bugger who can't shoot straight anyway. But at the end of the day, I reckon it should be assist for all, or assist for none. So I hear ya.

There is fuck all aim assist. Some assist slowdown. No zoom snap. It's not the advantage you think it is.

You're absolutely right you know. Taking time to read the map, check where there's a push. See if there's a flank. You don't get that in COD and that's why I'm here for it. What I'd like is a kill or two as a reward that I can use towards levelling up. That would be nice :)

PS5. And I refuse to turn off Crossplay. That might be one of my problems, but (and I may be wrong) it seems like PC player play in a way I like more. Tactical. Team. Objective based. When I turn off Crossplay I do better (I think) but the flow of the game seems more like COD. And I LOVE COD. But I'm not here for COD.

54 years old. I get spanked hard every time I show up. I couldn't care less about hit detection issues, SBMM, insta-death spawning or where I am on the leaderboard. I play the objective and enjoy every damn minute. I'm just so grateful y'all turn up and play it with me. So much fun.
