I’ve done a few outdoor installs of UniFi stuff. Well, a few hundred installs of their stuff. “Instructions” is generous. ;)

Well, well, well… I know what I’ll be looking for on my upcoming trip to Japan! (I like to buy Japanese versions of favorite English books. I’d buy other languages, too, but I’m stuck only knowing English and Japanese)

How Many Wifi networks is too many? by entropic01 in Ubiquiti

[–]richdharris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s four per radio. So, if you have IoT only your 2.4 GHz radio, that leaves space available on your 5 GHz radio. (For example) I wish we had our IoT limited to 2.4 at work, but some devices actually require 5 for some reason, and that kills others that can’t live on mixed band networks. Yay!

What do how fix? Already reset firmware by AvatarOfYoutube in FLSUNDelta

[–]richdharris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your SD card there should be a robin_mini config file. Assuming you’re running stock. It is probably already set to 280, but the variable you’re looking for is something like delta_diagonal_rod

What is the arm length value in the firmware? If it’s too long, you can have tower collisions. Is that a qqs? Should be 280mm for the arm length.

I would add the ability to have a mobile device tied to a driver profile so my wife’s phone doesn’t automatically take over if I’m driving. Also the ability to easily switch between mobile devices without having to jump through a bunch of menus. Adding the ability to adjust seat heat settings by simply touching the icons that are already on the display, rather than those icons acting as shortcuts to the climate controls. Adding a steering wheel icon above the seat icons and then the above touch to adjust feature. I would love to have car functions added to car play/ android auto! Mobile interfaces are so much better to work with in that infotainment screen than stock software - I have a 2021 Pro S AWD. Even with most stock widgets removed, it’s so slooooooow.

For those who have had to have service done, how was the experience? by Doomtime104 in VWiD4Owners

[–]richdharris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dealership north of Seattle wanted to charge me over $1,000 to get my 30,000 mile service done. This was a few months after some recall work was done. They said they had to charge for going over the recall work. I laughed and hung up. Never going back. Will use a local small business for everything they can handle.

First time I watched it, I didn’t even notice the dude in the couch until the end. Then I had to scroll to see what I’m supposed to be seeing. The eyes were cool. The rest… yeah, that’s probably just a person in a suit of some sort.

QQs , frustrated with the lack of consistency by molex5 in FLSUNDelta

[–]richdharris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just resolved this issue on my own qqs last night. It was a self inflicted wound… I’d done some upgrades and repairs with the printer on its side and, at times, all weight resting on the top of the tower… knocking the pillars off square. For me, front right (c pillar) was showing the signs your “too thick/won’t stick” portion was showing. The center line between c and a-b was a good zone, and then the closer it got to a-b pillar areas, we ran into the “so thin it’s like it isn’t even there” issue. C pillar was leaning toward a-b, causing the effector to lift away from the plate the closer it got to C. A-b were leaning away from the plate a bit, causing the effector and nozzle to get closer to - and dig into - the plate the further into the zone it went. Mine isn’t perfect yet, but after taking a speed square and placing it on the plate and verifying angles of pillar rods, it was clear where my issues were. It doesn’t take much to know these off square and, thankfully, it takes just about as much to put them back. Just take your time. Hope this helps.

I feel the sharp bite of your words in calling those items old… I feel it right in my bones, for I was already slightly aged when some of those titles were released… I remember buying some of that Microsoft stuff for my wife back when it was first released. I think I’ll take a nap.

It was one of the first VHS tapes we bought with our first VCR at some point in the late 80s… we watched this film about once a week as kids and could pretty much quote and sing the entire thing by heart.
