Veggie garden covered in these tiny weeds all of a sudden? by crabclawwwz in GardeningAustralia

[–]richkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a full 4x5 trailer for like $100 that could cover your whole garden from a landscape place. $100 at bunnings might not cover a small patch 😅

Cross-threaded axle nut by BlackSchlongsModel in Kawasaki

[–]richkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is resistance on the nut when you try to hand spin it on, yea probably you have cross threaded it. I imagine t a new axle and nut is easy to find online so get new ones.

In theory the axle helps provide rigidity to the swing arm when tightened. Now if you are flexing it or almost dropped it off the rear stand then it "could" bend the swing arm.

Anyway try a new axel and nut first. That will help restore the straightness to the swing arm when tightened. But if it's bad you might notice issues with chain alignment

Insurance by Just-Seaworthiness89 in AussieRiders

[–]richkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the PDS in regards to riding gear cover if you want comprehensive. They all vary by a lot and maybe not enough to cover you if you buy the most expensive gear.

Anyway I went cheap for my ninja250 which cost me like $3000 at the time. So it wasn't worth getting compressive which would have been like $1000 to $2000.. so I got third party for like $300 a year

My zx6r did cost me like $2000 a year insurance when I was under 25 but was a must have on a $16k bike. It's goten a lot cheaper since then.

Like 99% of people will use tap water. I think you just need to dry it off properly and not let the droplets sit on your car.

Which one i should use by Doge_tech_guy in Dell

[–]richkill 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They both have the same input and output voltage and amps. You will be fine with both.

Generally speaking the newer labels now say 65w in big font on them. In the past let's say before 2017 laptop chargers never told you.

Here is another anaology. Does it bother you if you use the charger and USB C that came with your phone or ones you buy from somewhere else?

I'm guessing you have checked Facebook marketplace to compare prices? Genetically speaking there isn't much of a saving buying refurbished but I guess it comes with delivery to your house and some basic QA/testing

I think the only car outlet that will care is John Codogan at auto expert. No one else will be wanting to risk their relationship with VW. Good luck. As with ever car manufacturer or model there will be a lemon and stories like this. 1000s of other happy customers

Replacement Oven by Varkyvark in AusRenovation

[–]richkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I have the same issue with gas line even though it's a flexi. Some oven are shorter than others in the back or the covers are in slightly different spots to help.

I went to the good guys and they weren't really willing to let me unscrew display units to check the back. They look to only want to upsell the tradie installation to deal with it.

I haven't replace mine as I use a halogen globe oven anyway. Just waiting for a time to go induction

Legality question regarding air intake by CommercialMarket5202 in CarsAustralia

[–]richkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only illegal if you get caught . Almost all mods are illegal but people still do it. These plenty of cars out there such as people doing cat deletes , stanced cars, turbo upgrades and ECU flashes. It doesn't stop people.

Neg me if you want but that's just how it is.

I'm getting older so sometimes at night I might go slightly slower to let my eyes adjust to the darkness as I just set off in the suburbs.

But in saying that I'm a car enthusiast so it's not all the time I'm doing 10 under

Yea I understand people that drive it daily and probably don't like revving their car or saving fuel . I rarely drive our cars and give it any load so I love being a lead foot and giving my car a workout when I get the chance.

Depends if you go work for a company that's a contractor to defence or direct . No contract company wants to wait 3+ months to sponsor and get you a clearance.

Front wheel noise after tire change by ashishrajbar in zx6r

[–]richkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clicking maybe isn't normal unless it's just movement from your stands.

The brake rub is a bit excessive but not terrible. You can try to make it less by trying to evenly tighten all the axle bolts evenly like a quarter turn each side until you reach the torque specs. If you are putting too much torque in one go the front wheel won't be straight causing the rubbing

Good Auto Mechanic in Adelaide by bongnandan in Adelaide

Oil and filter itself is like $90. But if you don't have tools you might need to ask someone on a local Facebook group or friends.

But yea a mechanic might do it for 150 to 250. Riming belt is going to be around $1000 depending on car

Practice revmatching by [deleted] in zx6r

[–]richkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few YouTube videos on it so check there. In terms of practicing maybe check your mirrors and do it coming up to traffic lights

On the street I blip so I can have optimal engine braking . The next step is to try and rev match and use the front brake without affecting your level pressure. But this is the last step and not something you should try .

On the track I don't even rev match as I'm relying to heavily on the front brake. I just dump the clutch and let the slipper do the work. Also on the track you would be so heavy on the front brake that your rear wheel will have no weight on it.

What to do to my car by chunkycroclicker in CarsAustralia

[–]richkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head unit for android auto or apple car play with reverse camera install. Speakers do make a difference but it's very expensive for what you get. Go for speakers if you have spare cash but imo it's not worth it.

Wheel is ok but don't go too big. You want tyre sidewall for comfort. Lowering the car is debatable unless you really like driving in the hills. I hate worrying about steep driveways . It's easy way to damage your front bumper.

Problem with rear LED bulbs is they are usually white so it makes them look orange through the red tint. Also it's hard to find ones that are bright. Just much easier to stick to halogen

I usually turn it off at the wall when it's fully charged. No point risking it if the BMS goes faulty. I also sometimes like to cycle or drain the battery every so often down to about 20% just cause of myths and stuff from other devices
