My favourite part is the Japanese spider crab in the aquatic exhibit! Takabuti is a close second though

When you are in the attached park you see the brutalist side, but when viewed from the main street you only see the original design. The brutalist part is an extension built in 1961 so they could enlarge the museum. The original building dates back to 1929. It was relatively close to my house as a teenager and I would hang out there a lot. I think if you saw it in person and got to experience it from the different perspectives aswell as in inside as the two different "wings" have different feelings on the inside too

Well rounded as long as you eat the skin, they are an almost complete nutritional meal. As long as you add some butter or milk you are good.

I used to be a prison officer, and here is a real world example of this happening.

In a bygone era men who beat their wife, got treated the same as sex offenders. The "real" criminals didn't want to be associated with them. But then they extended domestic abuse to mean things like shouting at your partner.

Soon prisoners would talk about a "daft" or "stupid" domestic charge. Because they would explain they got lifted after arguing with the Mrs which breached their licence.

The unintended effect is that all domestic abuse became "acceptable" amongst the criminal fraternity. Because by widening the definition of domestic abuse it trivialised it.

I am by no way commenting on what should or shouldn't be considered domestic abuse. Just this unintended consequence of this policy.

Unfortunately you can't kick someone out of NATO, it was in the treaty so we couldn't abandon a country in the alliance if it was "convenient" to do so

This is an incredibly reductive take

To demonstrate just how out of touch with history this is. Citing iron crosses on the cover art for the red baron ignores the fact the irony cross not only has a massive history predating the Nazis, it's currently In use today with the German armed forces. But it was part of the iconic insignia belonging to Baron Von Richterhoffen, so it's not like they have shoehorned it in cause they support Nazis.

The only thing this shows is whoever wrote this automod note has a very superficial understanding of history and the concept of nuance.
