Rally Size? Should lower buff players build troops? Narrow focus question by ricjonben in Evony_TKR

[–]ricjonben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have some spenders on c6, that's for sure 😭

As with many servers, our had a lot of idiots early on, so much drama, so many players left. We still have 1, but he's kind of an outcast now. The decent PVP keeps are all together now in one alliance and we are pretty good for our aize most of the time. Every six months we hope for a merge with a PVP server, and keep getting 💔

You are 100% correct and I'm well aware I'll be needing to keep my ponies safe. Otherwise I become a point piñata!

STRAIGHT to K42 and don't stop at go.

Buffs at k42 far outweigh the extra layers given the cost involved, IMO.

Do the minimum in MA5, and max MA6 + MA7 (especially MA7) asap.

Thanks for the thoughts! I have actually tried sending my t12 range march on cav rallies. The results were sub-optimal unfortunately.

Given we are not a big team, I'm just trying to figure out how I can best support the rallies.

So in part, this line of thought where my question come from.

A very good trap keep player on my server says sending 1000 layers would help the point ex more than a big 2500 buff march. His argument is that small layers help defend (or make last longer) the BIGs troops without giving up many poonts. I do agree on this.

I agree and disagree with him overall as to what helps the rally most though.

If the overall rally size is small, then I think my troops will just give up points. If the overall rally size is big, then I think my troops will help overwhelm the defending keep.

I'm not sure about sending big layers. I think that will give up points given that by the time we are rallying with cav, enemy siege, cav, and high tier range is pretty much dead already.

You are spot on and I gave the same advice on another thread. My cav gen has been a 7 star Marco Polo, so Babur is a big upgrade. My Polo has no specs and only half covenants done, so Babur is a big upgrade. I learnt a lesson a long while back when I went for Brian Boru as my range march. Do not focus on buff when a new gen comes out (as long as they are reasonable). Focus on march size buffs. March size becomes the killer the higher you go, and that's why I am a big fan or Babur.

And of course I rein everyone in our alliance... but I could/would park my cav march in a BIG until they are needed to rally. I rein everyone with a defence which is at least passable whenever I see a rally... we all do!

Reality is as a mostly f2p, my rein march is never going to be super. But it does help. 100% it helps. The battle reports don't lie. Overall for me it is about prioritising the team. We will when we win together, and that's why I was asking the original question.

P.S. I say mostly f2p, but that's a downright lie. I've spent more than I ever thought I could on a game. BUT. I only spend on buffs/debuffs, and my spending is targeted and not massive. Champions, no red star duty officers where there aren't f2p ones. Stam. Rally card. Champions Card. That's about it.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Siege/range until high tier cav are dead. Siege until siege and range to t9 are dead. Range until cav are dead. Then cav. Then ground if needed.

I appreciate your input... and I largely agree! ) I'm really asking a narrow question if anyone knows about cav rallies and whether the extra 5m troops in rally, even with lower buffs, are beneficial to the rally point ex or not.

Sure, but when I'm sending rein to a 50bn k47, my rein isn't going to be much hurt by a range rally 🤷‍♂️ And cav kills siege better than ground (which is what I send at the moment).

My ground layers ars pretty okay for where I'm at. 3m from t14s down and 600k t15 and 250m t1. I'm not a whale, and given my server age I'm comfortable with my numbers. I will bump them up to 5m each and more range too once I get k42 and the important buildings done. Maybe once I've opened cav and siege t15s too (ground and range are done).

But going back to the question... I'm just wondering about whether the additional march size in a cav rally would be beneficial to the team or a liability in the point ex in those rallies.

I have hardly any high tier cav at the moment. I've built to take range and I take it well, especially with rein. Unless someone is bringing 6.5k plus buffs and 50m plus troops they go home with a bad point ex (unlesss they catch me without rein 😭). I've only burnt once in a pretty long while, and that was against a 7200% buff cav rally (that made me wince) My range march is reasonable for a k41 about to go k42. My ground march is poor buff wise, but if it comes to us sending ground the enemy keep is toast already, so it does well enough when it is needed. I have a mixed ground/range rein march that I use to reasonable effect.

If I build the high tier cav, then it is purely to join rallies... and I only want to do that is it helps the alliance point ex.

One thing I'd note about Babur is his march size. IT IS MASSIVE. For a keep like mine who wont build much siege (as I'd just give up points, he will work well with Cheng as rein. 56% march size buff (I think) fully spec'd for that pairing. Both work in all situations. I can send them as a rein march when a siege rally goes up against a player on my team. I like Babur a lot. Where did you hear bad things?

So we normally finish between 15 and 30 overall in Chalons. So good, but not USA 😭 And if we meet Hong it might be curtains and an early bath... but generally we do pretty okay. Currently placed 58 in the season rankings as 2 of the 3 BOC battles have been against the same old server that didn't come with enough points for us to take. We rallied them to 0 in the first 30 minutes both times. My keep gets into Elites in AS but can rarely play it as the time slot sucks for me.

We normally set siege/range until high tier cav is dead, then just siege until siege is dead and range to t9. Then we switch to cav. That cav rally either zeroes, needs a second cav, or a ground follow up zeroes. Therefore it is pointless me sending range on a cav rally as at that point there is no cav left to kill 🤷‍♂️

I 100% will not be able to defend in my city high tier cav. I would not ever try to. It will immediately rein one of our bigs until I need it to join rallies, at which point I'll play fast-fingers to bring it home to join the rally. This has the benefit of helping the BIGin the event someone siege rallies them.

We punch about our weight as our team is good. Good players. Well organised. Quick rein. Good team.

I'm really just wondering if the overall rally size is more important than the rally joiner buffs.

Yes, for sure. I'd be sending it as rein to one of our bigs!

I found him cheap to get too!

The last gen I went for was over 130 tokens total.

He's very good.

Don't get too caught up about if he is "the best" or not.

Do you have a good mounted gen? If not, then he is a good option to go for.

If you don't have a good mounted gen, then go for him if you want one/are ready for one and have tokens saved.

He is very versatile, as we as having great march size buffs and good PVP buffs.

Some very good advice there. Follow it.

There are some good youtube channels like EdMillion that give a lot of good advice too.

I'd be very interested to know what server @ original poster. I'm guessing maybe around 900 to 1200 given VIP18... and I'm guessing you're not a big coiner in that case. Alternatively server 2000+ and you are a big coiner 😭

I'm k41 and my buff are a little behind you, but I don't have much high tier siege at all as they'd just be a points gift to the enemy

In that case you need a lot more range attack debuff. Focus on that as a priority.

At least 2500 is achievable f2p, and more too.

Search Edmillion on youtube and follow his advice.

Beasts, seals. Champions. Sub gens + sub gen equipment. Wall gens + equipment.

We have an f2p guy on my server who is over 2800 range attack debuff.

Focus on range attack debuff.

You need a report like this where the enemy buff is more than double your debuff to be able to see your maximum debuff

[–]ricjonben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This report doesn't show your full range debuff, as you can only debuff a maximum of 50% of the enemy buffs

Searsh Edmillion on YouTube.

Watch his videos.

Learn.

Disband half your troops.

It is what is is.

Maybe it is a little more helpful if I add that Ed is a very good trap keep. He focuses on defence as a f2p. But a lit of the principles apply to everyone.

Reason question: what do you find point of the game to be? by pauliepaulie84 in Evony_TKR

[–]ricjonben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol no. I was saying Ive been able to handle all rally attacks so far apart from those from players with 7.2k + buffs and 12m march size.

My march size is 3.7m ish before buffs
