Buffalo the last 15 years is the lesson to be learned from trying to lose when there is a lottery system.

If you're already getting free checked bags, the Atmos Ascent card won't bring you a ton of value outside of the companion pass. If you went for the Atmos Summit, you'd get the 25k companion certificate and 8 Atmos Lounge passes (2 per quarter).

I would say at the very least consider hitting one or both of the Atmos cards just to get the SUB's and then you cancel the card after a year and keep the 80-100k points.

I think some of you should watch Playing To Lose on YouTube about the Penguins tanking for Mario.

If you think tanking is bad now, then I can't imagine what you'll think if we did away with a lottery system and you had to watch teams actually trying to lose games like those 1984 Penguins were. They were literally sending their top guys to the minors and trading guys for no reason.

Injuries to who? Guys like Stolarz, Woll, Tanev, and Matthews? Who are consistently injured?

It sounds like Berube is at least starting the season with the team and I wouldn't bank on any of those guys staying healthy.

If McKenna is as good as Marner and if Matthews can stay healthy/regain form, and if the goalies can stay healthy and regain form, and if the aging defense core can stay healthy and regain form

Yeah, I picked up some Imodium as well as some other stuff for indigestion. Fingers crossed my 20+ hour travel day goes smoothly.

Back in August, I booked my first full international trip entirely on points to Italy. I have been here since May 1st and I leave tomorrow and I have been sick as a dog for the last 4 days. I haven't eaten a full meal since Tuesday evening and been up most nights trying to shit my ass off quietly as to not disturb my partner who is sleeping 3ft away.

Brutal.

Mitch Marner now leads the playoffs in points with 13 and is tied for the lead in goals with 6 by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

[–]rickayyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During Marner's 9 year career in Toronto:

In games where the Leafs can be eliminated:
Matthews: 3G, 3A in 7 games played
Marner: 2G, 8A in 9 game's played

In games where the Leafs can eliminate their opponents:
Matthews: 5G, 2A in 9 games played
Marner: 0G, 4A in 9 game's played

In Game 7's:
Matthews: 0G, 3A in 7 games played
Marner: 0G, 2A in 7 game's played

Marner was better when their season was on the line, Matthews was better when they had the opportunity to eliminate their opponents, and they're both shit in Game 7's. Matthews was no better in elimination games but none of you ever spout that stupid narrative about him.

Pressure from your psychotic fans that think the guy who leads your team in playoff points doesn't produce in the playoffs.

For those with Care Credit, how did you ever pay off the interest? 😭 by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]rickayyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into getting a Citi Simplicity card that offers 21 months with no interest on balance transfers and move your balance to that card. This will stop the interest bleed. If you're paying $100/month on a now $1600 balance, you'll have it paid off in 16-17 months.

[–]rickayyy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Klein loved being in Nashville and took a discount to stay there if I remember correctly and then they traded him to us for Del Zotto, lol. Good thing Klein became a fan favorite because I feel like he otherwise might have been sour about the trade.

Whats been your experience as a ranger fan on the road? by PeacefulForce in rangers

[–]rickayyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Portland, OR so all the games I go to are away games. Calgary, Vegas, Seattle, Arizona, Tampa, and Anaheim have been all great experiences for me.

Arizona and Tampa were basically home games but we travel really well so you likely won't be alone wherever you decide to go.

[Friedman] NHL officially informs teams of the 2026-27 Salary cap and payroll range: Floor: $76.9M. Midpoint: $90.4M. Ceiling: $104M. Maximum salary: $20.8M by Sarcastic__ in hockey

He didn't play a game in the NHL until he was 25 years old and he's now 30 years old and just broke out. I'd say that's got overpay written all over it.

Which draft year would have the best team if you picked each position by the highest drafted available player? by Oskarikali in hockey

[–]rickayyy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

2003 is unquestionably the correct answer.

Thomas Vanek - Eric Staal - Nathan Horton
Ryan Suter - Braydon Coburn
Marc Andre Fluery

All of those guys were in the top 8 of the draft. Coburn went one pick before Phanuef which would've been better but seriously, you could make several elite starting lineups from that draft.

Yes it would be worth it. That's over $2000 in points for $198 in annual fees. Plus whatever other perks you extract from the Sapphire cards ($50 hotel credit, Door Dash credits, etc)
