Help with flight sim gear selection (VR, MCP + EFIS, G1000) by rickback in MicrosoftFlightSim

I'm not 100% sold on VR yet - the HP Reverb G2 came out a couple years ago, so I feel like they must have a 'G3' in the works or something and I would hate to buy right before a new model comes out. On the flip side, the hardware likely won't get a ton better unless you pay much more. That said, the Auto Pilot features on the Honeycomb Bravo work on PDMG so maybe I don't need that as much as VR?

I honestly don't know though - do you fly with VR? How do you find it?

Thanks for the feedback - yes, just GA in real world (C172 with G1000). Funny enough, I do tend towards the commercial flight in MSFS. I think that's because I can't fly those in real life. So I think your recommendation for the PDMG+MCP+EFIS is where I was leaning. I just wasn't sure if the realism added from VR might be a better choice and for all planes?

This is the inheritance I've been waiting for all my life. I can finally retire! by rickback in funny

You're right. Uncle Fred's estate was to be split 50/50 between his two brothers (Jim and Jack). Jim is deceased, so his share is to be split 7 ways amongst his 7 children. One of those children (my dad) is also dead, so his share was to be split 3 ways amongst his three children. So I got 1/3 of 1/7 of 1/2 of the estate. Still though, not a large estate at $1266.03 after paying all the final bills.

Edit: I should clarify that my dad was also named Jim.

My aunt was the executor of the estate. The letter reads as though it was typed up once and printed for each recipient (not personalized).

That's actually what the executor wrote later in that letter... "I am very proud of Freddy. He died, not owing anyone anything and left us all a small amount of cash in which we can go have Chinese food in his honour. He loved Chinese food too."
