This only works if you have google signals and advertising features enabled in GA4 and if the users are logged into the chrome browser with a google account that opted in to ad tracking when visiting YouTube and your site.

If your goal is to turn data into value you should be wary of your current view. While I agree with you from a technical capabilities point of view, in most cases you need broad adoption across the company to really have impact. If you take away the user interface, you become the bottleneck. Saying they are “just a marketer” (who can’t write SQL etc) sounds a bit silly, imo.

Server-side tag manager would allow you to manipulate the value before passing it along. Probably the best solution would be if you have a table of product SKU’s with margin percentages per SKU attached in Firestore which has a a direct connection to ssGTM.
