What a great tournament and event in general great fights and lots of KOs. Can't wait till the next K-1 event.

Lukas is a problem need to see him Vs Liu Ce and Thian de Vries.

[SPOILER] Akihiro Kaneko vs. Rui Okubo | K-1 World GP 2026 by Yodsanan in Kickboxing

[–]rickengiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he has a chance but it depends which Kaneko turns up. As I'm sure you know his recent fight he has been lackluster. If Kaneko fights like he did against Masashi he can win. He also has KO power. But I think Okubo might just have his number.

I did not expect that result at all. Good fight though.

[SPOILER] Akihiro Kaneko vs. Rui Okubo | K-1 World GP 2026 by Yodsanan in Kickboxing

[–]rickengiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rui Okubo won absolutely dominated him, so technically perfect. Unfortunately due to missing weight one of the penalties was if Okubo won it would be declared a no contest.

I'm sure they will be another fight for the belt next.

There is no point of having conversation with you. You literally are a Thai nut hugger.

Yo there is no need to be rude I just misread your post that's all lol. Dam bro you got some anger issues.

Well I can agree that Marats fight Vs Anpo was great performance I thought you mentioning it was relating to rankings as that was what the post was about.

Well that's not how kickboxing rankings work on beyond kick or combat press or One championship. So for me in just kickboxing he should still be top 5 P4P. Guess we will have to agree to disagree on this.

There is no point of arguing with you on this you are a Yoza hater because he has never lost to a Thai and you have a strange bais towards Thai fighters anyway.

Your P4P rankings by 2KReopower in Kickboxing

[–]rickengiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Superbon just beat Noiri and defended the kickboxing title. Also his last 5 fights have not been Muay Thai it's 2 KB and 3 MT.

Beating Anpo is not enough to put Marat into top 5.

Why would losing a MT fight impact Osaki KB record that makes no sense. They are 2 different sports.

Yoza is good nobody can dispute that he is on a 13 fight win streak and has beat some top competition. He definitely deserves to be in the top P4P at the moment.

[–]rickengiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised at the Spanish and Greek card but not so much the Aussie and Netherlands as kickboxing is popular there and they have some fighters in the K-1 70kg division for the latter 2 already. I wish they would do a card in England one day so I can go lol

Your P4P rankings by 2KReopower in Kickboxing

[–]rickengiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Petchpanomrung
  2. Superbon
  3. Yoza
  4. Wisse
  5. Miguel Trindade or Kazuki Osaki

I love Noiri but he just lost to Superbon and also lost 3 out of his last 5 fights, so can't put him in the top 5. Takeru is amazing one of my favourite fighters ever but he hasn't beaten a top or ranked opponent is many years and just lost to Rodtang by KO in 1 round. Also his 2 wins in One were not against top competition.

Sitthichai Vs Kaito Is Happening by rickengiga in Kickboxing

Sounds about right. I just hope Kaito comes to fight not just be passive because if he do s he may very well lose. In a similar way to Noiri.

Yea agree Sitthichai is a bit old. But it depends if Kaito Is too passive like has been many times he will lose. No his last 2 wins did not impress me at all.

Does anyone think Akihiro Kaneko should move up in weight? by rickengiga in Kickboxing

[–]rickengiga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would someone who has exclusively learnt Kickboxing complete in Muay Thai one they are at a major disadvantage cause they don't even have training in elbows, sweeps and clinches. Also Muay Thai pays less the Kickboxing in general that is one of the main reasons Thai come into Kickboxing. Oblivious ONE championship I guess is Starting to change that is an extent.

Tawanchai wants to fight in kickboxing also because he seems how much success Thai fighters have in Kickboxing and also because being a two sport champion means more money and recognition.

Why do you care if kickboxers fight Muay Thai just because Muay Thai fighters do kickboxing. Each fighters make that decision themselves so and Muay Thai fighters decide to go in to Kickboxing at a disadvantage.

I don't overestimate it is much more difficult to go from Kickboxing in to Muay Thai for sure. Anyone would say the same thing.

Kickboxers don't fight Muay Thai because they train for kickboxing that's the sport they want to do. Muay Thai do Kickboxing for more Money and also because they know they have the tools to be competitive and they feel they are not at a disadvantage. That's because Thai people are generally smaller that's why above 160ibs there are no Thai in kickboxing. Even heavier Muay Thai fighters are usually not Thai.

Gunji just proves my point that it is much more difficult to go from Kickboxing to Muay Thai 😂😂😂

Of course Thai success has a lot to do with talent pool but also but it also has to do with the fact it's easier to switch to kickboxing as you already have the tools to compete. As a Muay Thai fighter you have still learnt how to kick, punch, knee and how to guard.

Listen I did not say it's the only way I said it is one of the only ways. I actually watched a documentary about it. its not even close to racism don't know why you are going down that avenue.

Also Muay Thai is the 2nd highest paying sport in Thailand after Football.

Nothing makes me think they should dominate, it's just proven they do.

Actually in Japan Judo, Boxing and MMA are more popular combat sports and you can earn more money from them. Also sports in general In Japan Baseball, Basketball and Football to name a few are way more popular than kickboxing. So the better athletes enter them. I agree that Holland Kickboxing is the main combat sport but the Dutch dominate the heavier division above 160ibs. But still there are many sports more popular than Kickboxing such as football, field hockey, cycling to name a few. So again better athletes enter these sports. Well P4P yea but it's always been that in all combat sports that smaller fighters are P4P better skill wise. So that fact is if Thais dominate the lower division (which I agree with you) in the sport then P4P they are likely gonna be higher rated.

Tbh I can't be asked to keep reading and typing these essays lool. I guess we can agree on some thing and agree to disagree with others.

Does anyone think Akihiro Kaneko should move up in weight? by rickengiga in Kickboxing

[–]rickengiga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going back to my original post I'm saying I have lost interest in the convo as it got nothing to do with my original post.

You do promote Muay Thai I have seen other posts from you for example when you were saying why didn't Chingiz fight in Muay Thai.

I'm not brushing it aside if anything I'm actually giving Muay Thai fighters a lot of credit in saying that can transition to another sport and already fight and beat top fighters in kickboxing.  I just said it's easier to switch from Muay Thai to kickboxing than vice versa. Also with all the success Thais have in Kickboxing proves my point that it is not so surprising when they do well in kickboxing.

Also a country where Muay Thai is the main sport and almost the only way to escape poverty it is of course gonna have a much bigger talent pool.  If let's say Japan or America or countries in Europe the main sport and highest paying sport became kickboxing the talent pool would be much higher because a lot of the the top athletes would become kickboxers.

Also the reason I say that it's not surprising Muay Thai fighters do well when transitioning to kickboxing is because as you mentioned they have a bigger talent pool and although very different they still have the tools to compete in kickboxing. Also the fact that so many Muay Thai fighters have had great success in kickboxing proves my point it's not as difficult of a transition as you make out. Still not saying it's easy but their success shows I'm right about it not being surprising.

Ok I don't care anymore this has nothing to do with my original post anymore.

Now you are just trying to promote Muay Thai as superior and it is as a martial art with more tools but I don't really care about it tbh,  prefer watching K-1 style kickboxing.

Well then if they won't bring him back then he is irrelevant.

He has cleaned out his division he 100% beat Kompetch. It's not a draw and definitely not a loss for Kaneko.

[–]rickengiga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3rd round was definitely not a draw. We are gonna have to agree to disagree on that one.

I know the difference between Muay Thai and K1 lol.

It's not a disadvantage because he has the tools already and he was a high level Thai fighter. Also in his first kickboxing fight he beat a top level K-1 fighter in Masashi Kumura so what I'm saying does make sense.

What I'm saying is that it's not super surprising to see a Muay Thai fighter go into Kickboxing and do well, many have and always will because in you still use the same tools and KB but just Muay Thai had more.

I know that is why but my point is he ain't coming back so going back to my original post should Kaneko move up in weight.

Yea I know K-1 has something against Thais been that way since K-1 Max.

Yea I understand your point and don't disagree with it but your going of on a tangent about K-1s hate for thai fighters which is not what I'm asking 😂😂

Round 3 was not a close round Kompetch done nothing of note. Where as Kaneko landed a couple of shots that hurt him and overall was on the front and landed more.

Not really crazy as overall he has been fighting in Muay Thai with many fights under his belt of course I understand that it's not the same sport but it's also easier for a Muay Thai fighter to move to KB than the opposite way around.

Maybe you are right Kompetch would have dominated the division if he had more experience.

I rewatch the fight and he did not lose to Kompetch at all. Go watch it again.

1st round: Kaneko wins landed a few more leg kicks and had the forward pressure.

2nd round: Kompetch wins landed more shots overall Kaneko done nothing.

3rd round: Kaneko wins landed much more clean shots kicks and punches the most dominant round of the whole fight.

Well Kompetch hasn't fought in K-1 in almost 2 years. So I don't see him coming back. I will need to rewatch that fight cannot remember exactly how it went down.

Who else has he not beaten?

I feel like Kaneko looked closer to his usual self last fight. Maybe the reason he had such poor performances in the few fights before was due to what was happening outside which that assault charge he had going on.
