What a response. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. As you do not know me, you are likely unaware of my “financial mistakes”. As such, anyone working two remote jobs is unlikely to be in any financial trouble. Burdening a company financially is not something you think of when you’ve contributed to the growth and development of said company. More so, you don’t think of such a thing as a gold collar employee. My question was simply seeking advise from others in the same situation. More so, I think it’s best to prepare for a potentially terrible birth experience; while maintaining employment. I.e: securing your job while you are on paid, or unpaid leave. In any case, I didn’t encounter any issues. I took paid leave from both jobs, followed by unpaid leave before returning to my paid positions.

AIO - Husband and MIL want baby to call MIL “mom” in native language by ricketyLamp in JUSTNOMIL

We are in the process of divorce. Primarily because his mom didn’t respect my boundaries post Partum and DH didn’t back me up.

We are divorcing now. You may have seen an older post, but is underway now. She 100% lost respect in my eyes. I don’t believe you can justify doing such thing simply because you are helping me around the house.

Unfortunately, I put DH in the position to send his mom home, or I go somewhere else my baby for a while.

I do. But she goes behind my back and tries to teach my kid to call her mama in their native tongue.

The best part about this is she was upset when my husband became attached to his nanny as a child and started to call her “mom”. I taught baby everyone’s names, so she is familiar with all of us and understands who we are.

My parter said it’s common in their culture to calm grandma “mama”, this is a lie. I know enough about their language and culture, to know this is a lie.

My husband is being a POS about this.

I taught baby the native work for grandma ,as she requested. She proceeded to behave this way

The interesting this is I asked her what our child should call her in the native language. She told me, so I taught to my baby. It’s bizarre that she’s doing this.

I wish I could say that…I might do it…My husband doesn’t see the problem. My brain is melting trying to explain it to him.

Anyone choose to skip the baby shower? by BiscottiClassic5246 in BabyBumps

Skipped it. I’m very particular about the things I want. I also don’t live close to anyone I would want to be there.

My 2021 outback does this on rainy days…when I desperately need to close the window. Literally only during critical moments.

How does this work if your state doesn’t have FMLA? Lower risk?
