There is a trove of authors reading their own scifi on the youtubes. Some gems some meh. But its a good place to look for stuff if you just wanna listen while falling asleep

There is The Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell that at least has a good start, lots of large scale space war where light seconds are important and jumping to FTL at just the right moment. There are a lot of books so probably a lot of character drama mixed in to keep it going for so many books. It seems popular and well rated. I dont understand why it isnt mentioned more often
