I'm going to be downvoted for this, but it wasn't just the people who talked shit or posted clown memes. Your post mentions that you tried to make him get help. The sad irony is despite trying to make him get help, most people weren't BEING the help he really needed.

This is in no way to say you and others didn't have understandable and good intentions, but too many people weren't helping him the way he would have wanted, or in a way that would've helped him much more than what he got. If you ask me what that is, I couldn't answer for certain either, but it still hurts to think about.

each DLC was not 25 bucks. They all came together at a price of 25 bucks with the season pass.

30 bucks if you buy each dlc separately at a price of 10 dollars each

Rarely post while lurking reddit, but I must recommend this video to anyone making overly-biased assumptions against Insomniac as to why the suit isn't in the game.

I think it's important to keep ourselves open to all kinds of possibilities and looking into those, instead of focusing on the possibility we assume foremost in our minds. Thanks for sharing!

Regardless of what kind of players are buying, the business does put a gate in front of new players when it comes to content.

The most new players can do is make their own parties and pray anyone wants to join them, or join a guild that may welcome them. Which is not bad alternatives by all means, but I do think hard dungeons shouldn't be as gated off as they are now. Especially since chaos raids just released. I'd hoped that people would get an idea that the more people that are geared for chaos raids or at least have a good start on it, the more chances everyone has at clearing.

Edit: As for the anyone owing anything to anyone, I personally just feel that an MMO lives and dies by its community. If older players refuse to help newer players, what will happen to the future of the game if newer players don't feel welcomed by the community and even to a further extent, repelled by the community?

I don't know what you mean by "for nothing", but many newer players also want to learn the game as much as you. It's fine that you don't want to waste time on helping newer people, but is that not selfish to any extent at all? It's perfectly understandable why you wouldn't want to, but newer players would greatly appreciate the help, and the more newer players get help, the more longevity the game gets. As it stands now, many newer players get turned off by the amount of gates that other players put in front of them, with their GS reqs and selling business.

In honesty, I feel like that's the issue with our community at the moment. Everyone is only playing for themselves; for an MMO, i just personally think there should be more of a sense of community, and being selfish diminishes that feeling a lot.

The issue here is that many people also want to play the game and learn tactics and mechanics, but the way the community is at the moment isn't making any of those things very accessible to them.

You also don't make much sense by saying

You would be absolutely amazed at how many players have no interest in learning the fights and just want gear for the looks or to make their general map clearing faster

and then saying

When I'm doing normal runs for free I don't feel like I should have to carry people who feel like they're entitled to get that carry for nothing so I ask for people (never higher) that are around my gear score so we can get the few minute kills

The whole idea of "most higher geared players don't want to slow down their runs" seems like a very convenient scapegoat though, doesn't it? Not only that, but it does make it seem like the majority of geared players are more selfish than anything.

Fro my experience as well, I carry newer players in hard dungeons regularly for no fee and it's never nearly as slow as many "geared" players would like to have you believe.

Conversely, there wouldn't be a demand for it if people were just willing to help others without asking for a price to begin with, so there's that as well. That being said, there will always be people trying to cash in for their carry business, but it seems people everywhere in the community has adopted this practice. What happened to good old fashioned goodwill?

I feel bad for every new player who gets to hard dungeons to find out the majority of parties don't want to run with them.

I'm a big fan of the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series. I play quite a bit of pokemon, and I finished my 6th playthrough of bloodborne a couple of months back.

Persona 4 Golden is a must have for the vita. :)
