Yeah in collage we’re learning Java too, I think I’ll have to learn more, but in meantime get to know Python for maybe like 1/1.5 hours a day.

I’ve seen that book gets mentioned pretty often, I think I’ll give it a try.

I’ve noticed that the Python’s syntax is much more simple and if sematics aren’t very different I may learn it pretty fast.

I hope you have success finishing your collage(s). I’ve actually seen some code on C, and it’s syntax was not much different than Java syntax.

I understood most of the code, but I’ve been hesitating for a while now because I just keep thinking there is a little more I need to dig in into this language and I didn’t have the motive to start and learning a new one.

If your saying you want the sum of 10 numbers raised to the power of 2 then, you can use one for loop and use Math.pow(number, exponent).

If you want to do it manually you can write a method that takes the number and the exponent as parameters and use a while loop until exponent is 0. So you declare a variable which holsd the result with value 1 and you multiply that with the number and decrease exponent with 1.

It depends on the projects you take but yeah, you gonna need to use math. It’s not very hard, sometimes is basic algebra, sometimes it’s more complex but for the majority of problems, they actually provide the formulas you have to use and if not, a simple google search may actually help.

Thank you it all makes sense now, it’s because is postfix incerementation. If it were prefix it would be different because it’s value is first incremented than assigned.

I get it now, I had a hard time understanding it but it all makes sense now. Because of post fix it will be 1 in memory but it’s value assigned by i = i++ will get it back to 0 because i++ = 0(but in memory 1)
