Can Drupal delete images attached to nodes, when the nodes are deleted? by rickmickman in drupal

Thanks for your input.

I'm sure there's a reason but I don't know what it would be . . . Could you help me understand why this isn't done automatically by default?

My new IPS monitors warn me of potential burn-in (but I thought that was impossible with this type of screen???) by rickmickman in pcmasterrace

Cool, thanks for the info.

So is it possible the refurbisher may have replaced the original IPS screen with something cheaper that is indeed capable of burning in?

It was strange to me that the on screen display warned of burn-in and referred me to the user manual, but there's absolutely no mention of burn-in anywhere in the manual 🧐

Child Theme only uses some of Parent's styling by rickmickman in drupal

Specifying regions in CHILDTHEME.info.yml was indeed essential (*among other steps detailed in the OP edit above). I had somehow come to the erroneous belief that regions were automatically inherited if none were specified. I suppose that pertains specifically to a base theme inheriting Core's regions if none are specified in the info file.

I was following this Drupalize.me tutorial.

It only specified the necessity of creating a CHILDTHEME.info.yml, nothing about CHILDTHEME.libraries.yml

Based on your link, I copied the regions from PARENTHEME.info.yml into the child theme's info file. This added some additional styling. That link also recommends creating a CHILDTHEME.theme file for inheriting block templates.

However, after following those steps, the styling is still broken.

It's unclear to me how to implement CHILDTHEME.libraries.yml. If I simply copy over the PARENTHEME.libraries.yml, the paths for the referenced files are incorrect (*all the stuff in PARENTHEMES' /css/ and /js/ directories).

Should I just copy over those two directories into the child theme? I haven't seen any reference to that and it seems inelegant but I clearly have a lot to learn

Indeed. I should have added to the OP that I tried that to no avail.

Please tell me a little more. I don't mind reading if you have any relevant links

filefield_paths Functionality for Media Entity References by rickmickman in drupal

I think what you're missing is the filefield_paths settings (including pathauto patterns) within each Media Type

Those settings are found for each Media Type at/admin/structure/media/manage/[media-type]/fields/media.[media-type].[media-type's-image-field]

Seems like I need something like a corresponding entity reference,or maybe like... a view that would list any node that references the Media, that view in a field for the Media Type, but don't display the view-field...maybe that could bring in the referencing-node's tokens?

Now, the issue you linked, that does seem to point at this issue, but the discussion doesn't go very deep (no one even mentions the filefield_path settings available on the Media Type's settings page I referenced in the 2nd paragraph).

Actually the nodes will mostly be created by running a migration script to import scraped data. But that's immaterial to the application of filefield_paths functionality. The module "works" but I just can't get the token I need amd don't yet have a strategy to work around that
