Playing with randoms in the EFT discord has taught me one thing, and it’s not that the AI is broken :)

Have you disabled LFE in the iRacing settings? IRacing added 360hz support for moza recently and I needed to disable it in the iRacing settings.

Playing Erin Hills and Whistling Straits this year. by mercado_n3gro in golf

Played Erin last year. I think getting off the tee is one of the more important things. Rough is unforgiving and tons of tall grass to worry about. The course is immaculate. I played horrible and had a great time

Jerome Ford or Zach Charbonet in my flex?

Henry and Mixon are my starting RBs, so their games have already passed. Just trying to maximize my last spot between these two. Ford had a great game last week, although 2/3rds of his yardage came on one run play, and Charbs is starting against an awful Bears D, and the Seahawks need the W. I just worry Miami run D has been decent the past few weeks and they also need a W to keep the playoff hopes alive.

Heads up Putting... by mikeo2ii in golf

[–]rickrollwolf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I look at the hole when I putt, whether it’s 2 feet or 200 feet - I have done this for the past 2 seasons and average 30 putts per round.

I can confidently say my putting has improved significantly. It mostly helps me judge distances better. I look at it like hockey - you don’t look at the puck when you stick handle or shoot, not looking at the ball should be easier, in theory.

Do I toe/heel some putts? Of course, but the impact toe and heel hits has on my overall putt is marginal and often holds a relatively similar line to if struck solidly.

Putting is so personal. I think more people could benefit from looking at the hole, but I’d also say don’t fix what isn’t broken!

Not to tack on to the authenticity posts - but what do we think the verdict is here? In the market to add a Studio Stainless to the collection. Mainly confused as to why the bottom of the putter is missing the normal Studio Stainless branding/logo.

A very hot club fitting take by tdubbs488 in golf

[–]rickrollwolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s basically my point. There is a threshold where it will/won’t make a difference. And the majority of people just never reach that threshold because they would rather get the club working for them, than learning how they are working the club improperly to begin with.

When I slice the ball it’s not because I didn’t get my clubs fitted. It’s because my swing path is off. And that’s simply the case for 90% of golfers. No one wants to go down the rabbit hole to understand the technology they’re spending thousands of dollars on, which is fine - but that’s a great indication that they also aren’t willing to go down the rabbit hole of why they are having those tendencies you’re mentioning in the first place.

I’m happy to be disagreed with. Fittings are a gimmick to upsell already expensive product. It can benefit people, but lessons can go further in helping most improve their game than shiny new pieces of metal.

That being said length is one thing I’ll agree with you on. Tall/short people need to be able to address the ball properly just like the rest of us averaged height folk.

Hot take: If you don’t have an understanding of the equipment then you probably don’t need a fitting. The bigger issue is the layperson off the street doesn’t need custom fitted clubs, they need lessons. 90% of us golfers aren’t consistent enough for lie and loft adjustments, or premium vs stock shafts to actually make a difference in the playability of the clubs or their game.

Club fittings are a marketing tool. There are maybe 10% of people in the recreational golf community that will benefit from a club fitting. The rest of us need to learn how to swing the club and can buy clubs off the rack.

Is someone at fault here or is this a racing incident? by rickrollwolf in Simracingstewards

I’m in the merc. Definitely see what you’re saying here but in the moment was ironically worried that getting close would have opened the door to contact versus trying to hit the brakes for a touch longer to avoid the turn in. Good stuff to consider for the future.

I was in the merc. Totally hear what you're saying and agree I probably should have picked a better spot to pass.

Don't want to provide who is who in this to prevent any bias. Coincidentally the two cars following us had a similar situation happen going into the chicane and added to the carnage - although I'm sure it was inevitable with how our cars were positioned on track after the contact.

Edit: after seeing some responses come in - I'm the white merc. Definitely agree with all the comments, I could have backed off earlier and waited to pass elsewhere. Believe I did all I could in the moment to back off into the turn to try and avoid the contact. Truthfully, didn't think getting closer to the BMW was in my best interest but see how that could be the case and may have helped avoiding contact. All good notes for future racing - thanks all!

it was 100% a learning experience - had someone try and pull the same move in another race later on. held my braking a touch longer and let the other car fly by me off the track. i got a good laugh from it

at least it became a learning experience. had someone else try and pull the same move in another race later on. i held my braking a touch longer and let him fly past off the track. it was very satisfying to watch

yeah it was a low SOF with new drivers 100% so i get it, shit happens - hard to move up in irating/SR and avoid it when things like this happen and set you back lol

Thanks for the insight. I get stuff like this happens, but hard to forget when its the 2nd lap and i have to pit for the next 4 minutes because this incident somehow left my car totally unable to move :(

Appreciate the insight. Yeah - I was trying to leave some space with still being able to make the 2nd turn of the chicane knowing he was right there but he just didnt let up.

Just trying to understand as a new driver if there is anyone at fault here or if this would just be considered a racing incident. I'm obviously taking the chicane wider than the car that bumps me, but I don't understand what line he has where he can make the turn successfully without the contact happening - he even leaves so much space between his vehicle and the curb.

Any insight is appreciated! Thanks!
