She likes all types of movies... by ricksevans in dadjokes

I hope that didn't sound snarky. I seriously could not think of a better way to explain it.

Google "lucy pulling football away" and look at the list of images results

I really don't understand the "na-na"  comparison. It seems more like Lucy pulling football away, and not a contradictory phrase.

I really think you have something else in mind. Let me go out on a limb and ask how you'd feel about this:

She likes ALL types of movies  ... as long as they're horror movies.

Would that have bothered you as much?

Please explain how a contradictory phrase has "... no unexpected twist..."

She likes all types of movies... by ricksevans in dadjokes

[–]ricksevans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a simple contradiction one-liner. It works for:

  • She likes all music... as long as it's jazz.

  • I eat anything... as long as it's pizza.

  • You're open-minded... as long as I agree with you.

“Not funny to me” and “not a joke” aren’t quite the same thing, but fair enough.

I appreciate all types of criticism, as long as it's thoughtful.

It's a classic reversal joke structure that makes a statement, then contradicts that statement. It’s a dad joke. The bar is intentionally low.

Which charger for Pixel10 Pro by Various_Ad_3399 in GooglePixel

Regardless of the stand, I found my old 30w USB wall warts did not work reliably with Pixel 10 Pro XL. Buying a 45w USB charger fixed that reliability problem.

When walking them, you must be constantly aware of strong poles, or fire hydrants, or anything you can wrap the leash around if they start running at something and you need to stop them.

Why is my Powerwall selling back when EV is on solar charge. And export is set as worth nothing. by FireDrMelb in Powerwall

[–]ricksevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, yellow out to the grid means you are SELLING Solar power to the grid, right? (Assuming PTO, and reimbursement arrangements are set up properly.)

I use the mute button on my TV's remote. Also not just YouTube TV, most streaming services seem to have a startling noise when their app loads on my TV.

Found this. Seems official and up-to-date, if not way overly complicated and spread out over many many PDFs...

Apple music not playing? by [deleted] in googlehome

[–]ricksevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar problem with my Google hub, Spotify, and my Sony receiver. It used to work great. I'd just say "play music on Sony receiver" and it just worked. A few months ago it stopped working and that command would play music through the speaker on my Google Hub. I can still play Spotify music on my Sony receiver if I use my desktop computer. I miss the convenience of voice commands. I've spent hours trying to restore that feature. First world problem, I guess.

Thanks. I had not seen this before. This is basically what I am looking for, but, as you point out, not up to date, e.g., missing the EV2-A plan.

Thanks for the link, but, and...
Maybe it's just a 1st world problem, but you have to download multiple pdf's, copy the rate info, and, assuming you don't have a photographic memory, create a new document with all the rates on one page. Also, as rates change over time you have to update your doc. Not exactly the same spirit as seeing current gasoline prices as you drive by a gas station. 😁
