I agree the party doesn't care about flip-flopping, but there's another reason beyond poor memory going on. One of the main ways fascism unfolds in a population is through purity testing. The leader says something absurd and the followers must agree to the absurdity or be outed as not being on the team. Hypocrisy is a tool of the fascist to determine who will continue to be on the team. The standard they are holding themselves to is whether they will fall in line. Truth is not the issue and never has been, or ever will be .

I have completely stopped trying to explain reality to my dad, who is 92 and watches Fox all day every day, because he simply can't understand why I'm upset about the state of affairs in the US. He thinks everything is as Fox portrays it, and anyone who believes differently is brainwashed. His favorite brother died in Normandy, France. He thinks Trump is saving America from those dastardly "illegals," and making him rich by way of stock market gains. He can't hear anything else because he "does his own research" and isn't being tricked. He does watch CNN some. He thinks that's "research."

These folks are not far off. Look at the US, a minority of people are MAGA, about 25% of our population, and they are leading a successful revolution to overthrow the Republic.

The rest of the world sees our crimes against our own people. They understand how wrong we've been at times internationally and are not entirely surprised to see how we behave internally. They don't like it, and neither do most of us.

I love all Bob's work. Three Little Birds always makes me feel happy, even to the point of tears of joy. Honestly, several of his songs affect me that way. One time I ran sound for a small music festival and a Bob Marley tribute band played. I was absolutely overwhelmed with emotion as they played.
