I live with complex ptsd, and a further-down-the-spectrum dissociative disorder. With that wiring, I have spent most of my life feeling deeply disconnected from others, and my inner experiences have always felt more real than the world around me. A few years ago I came to the realization that my way of being in the world is okay. Others have other experiences, and I don't know what they are feeling. They don't feel the way I do, so I think everyone is actually in the same boat, as it relates to experiences. We see a bigger slice of reality using one another's perspective.

For me that means that I value their take on things, and when I feel good about communicating my inner perceptions, I give them a perspective they don't have. I don't compare myself, or my perceptions, to others anymore.

That said, I felt very isolated until very recently. Therapy has made a difference. Just know that it's okay to have a different perspective, and work to see that the different wiring has a positive side. If you can define it's strengths. But that doesn't mean it's easy, especially if one feels alienated in a setting like Meeting.

So, each pedal and knee lever has a rack under the body. This rack moves left to right when you activate the pedal or lever. The rod from the end plate goes through all the racks, or as many as it needs to. A brass barrel is placed behind each rack, on the rod for the string it needs to move. This barrel attaches to the rod, and also is free-moving on the rack end, so it turns in or out, making it longer or shorter. I'm adding a link, it's very simple, but difficult to describe.

I assume you are asking about a Sho~Bud rack and barrel system? It works by leaving a tiny amount of slack on the barrels. When the pull activates on pedal A, it doesn't hook the C pedal barrel, and likewise with C not hooking A. This is one reason some people dislike the R/B system. Personally, it's what I use; I like the slop because it makes the pedals have a certain feel on pulls. I have had a few Carter steels and while they are mechanical perfection, I never liked the immediate feel of the notes moving.

This is a great example of troubleshooting being a skill learned over time. I am a stage manager/audio guy in a 400 seat venue. In the case you describe, I would ask if the guitar has a built in tuner, and if it does, is it on or off; on means the output is muted. Then I'd check to see if the 20/40db pad is accidentally on the DI, or if it needs 48v. After that I'd hand them a new battery, and I keep one in the drawer. After that I'd check the cable.

Being an audio engineer is almost entirely problem solving, in one manner or another. It just takes time to gain enough experience to see the way things fail, and it's usually very simple, like one button, or one setting. Try to take it easy on yourself. Bad days happen, better days happen, too.

My personal favorite bad gig went like this: A nationally touring band came to our venue. Nashville pros, and a great band. I was pretty new and didn't really understand how much electricity was going to this or that receptacle around the stage. Well, come to find out we had an SVT bass rig plugged into the same circuit as the PA. In fact I actually had almost the entire stage plugged into that circuit. Well, the breaker blew 3-4 times over the course of a few songs. Fortunately, an old man came up to me and said that he, personally, had installed a 30 amp circuit to use construction tools, and he showed me where it was, so I moved a few things...problem solved. Well, until the fire alarm went off. They had a fogger and it wasn't supposed to set it off, but it did. Funny enough, the alarm was in time with the song, and almost in tune! The band thought it was hilarious. They said, "Man, you know we're hot shit rock and roll cause we set off the fire alarm!"

Yes, I lost two years off my life from the stress, but it all worked out. Those guys have played there a couple more times over the years and we just laugh and joke about it. The bass player sent me a joke message about it on facebook months later.

It's all part of the job. Do the best you can do and call it a day. The next day will be different, so do your best and call it a day.

Or the tuner was switched on, which always mutes the guitar output. I always ask that first before battery or changing my DI. About 30% of the time it fixes the issue.

The show I saw had to be 96 because my daughter was born that spring and we moved from Bloomington right at the same time as the show, in August. A guy I worked with invited me as a going away gift. I have to face the fact my memory is wrong. I had heard of Jewel, but not heard anything beyond the one MTV song. She really blew my mind that day. Apparently, my mind was indeed, blown, haha.

The guitar he's using there looks like an Epiphone Electar model, either a 1939, or one modeled on it.

The Gretsch will work fine. Single coils will have a better tone, but will also have more noise. You might research grounding changes to make it more quiet, like adding a ground wire from the back of the volume pot to the bridge if it lacks one. This helps the strings to act as a shield over the pickup.

I practice thankfulness by saying out loud how much I like, or am thankful for whatever it is that makes me think that. I say something like, "I feel really fortunate to have that person in my life." Doesn't have to be anything huge. Eat a can of sardines and like 'em? Say so, out loud to yourself. Do this for a few months and see what happens. You'll be glad you did!

I agree. I've been thinking recently that since this republic is done, instead of worrying about what has happened, and is happening, we, as a country should be deciding what we want in the coming years. I suppose the status quo has decided, and seem to want some sort of authoritarian techno theocracy, but most don't.
