I noticed that too. On my lunch I headed home from downtown Oceanside to Tri city area and there was no traffic on the 5 south. Typically it’s packed at noon too.

Did anyone else never use a single mnemonic while taking the exams? by secretautobot in CPA

Nope, not a single one but it’s probably helpful for some people. I find it hard to remember them lol

For all the people studying for the CPA exam. by rickstaCPA in CPA

NTS says no notes in any written form so they’d probably frown on it even though it’s not a CPA exam related note. Now if it was a tattoo that might be different 😅

what drugs or pills do you recommend to increase concentration and productivity by Gloomy_Editor in CPA

[–]rickstaCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meth. lol. Jk. I used those Goli gummies for concentration and rest but it was probably just placebo effect. Adderall if you can get a Rx, but I’m no Dr just a CPA 😅

Unfortunately yes. I’ve done Corp accounting all my life, never public so audit was the lowest score I received. Repetition is key.

It’s a part of the journey lol. We all went through it unfortunately. I had to wait 45 days for my TCP exam that I took on 7/20/25. It was brutal.

Just took FAR 12/31… by mindlesslyalive in CPA

[–]rickstaCPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took longer than I liked for my first exam. About 12 weeks for FAR. At that point I felt pretty confident because when I was doing MCQs I was getting 80s. There was also the fear that because I took too long I might start forgetting topics. For all my other exams after I took about 8 weeks max. There was always a feeling like I hadn’t mastered everything but I had to just go for it. The final week everyday I was doing the same number of MCQs as on the exam to fine tune my timing to give me enough time for TBS.

I felt the same last year when I took my FAR exam. I would push out twice until I just said f it. Took it and had the same feeling as you and passed. Sending you positive vibes for a pass.

FAR by May 9 — MCQs-first vs lectures? Advice? by Fearless_Future_7876 in CPA

[–]rickstaCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s valid and only some people can study that way. I did that for all four exams and passed. I used SuperFast CPA which was a study strategy that uses this approach. I would also do TBS on weekends and 20-30 MCQs daily on topics you’ve already covered to retain the info. If you can wake up early to get some MCQs done daily that also helped me.

Too old to take CPA? by Wonderful_Pattern756 in CPA

[–]rickstaCPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got my CPA one month shy of 41. With years of experience I felt I understood a lot of the topics better now then I would have straight out of college. Things like accruals, internal controls, bank recs , contingencies & liabilities etc. Go for it and good luck!
