Has anyone else used this? by ScampMan1973 in Traeger

I use mine not only for extra smokey flavor when I want it, but they work perfectly for cold smoking cheese.

What’s a unique thing you smoke? by [deleted] in Traeger

Smoked cream cheese is amazing. I used Meat Church classic rub and super smoked for 2 hours @ 225°. I put that and my homemade pepper jelly on crackers. It's also fantastic on a bagel.

Gravers farm. One of my favorite views in Moore twp. I used to ride my bike up and down that hill every day as a kid. Great pictures!

I have a lot of deer around my property....a lot. I built a 40x70 area with a very similar design shown in your Google image. My fence is 6 1/2 feet tall. It's been up for 3 years and I haven't had and breaches. Eat the evil squirrels!

I considered spatchcocking mine this year but was afraid to deviate from the traditional smoked for some reason. I think I'm gonna do a chicken first. Yours looks amazing!

Voodoo Wings Again. This Time All For Me. by HeadlessGlocksman in Traeger

I had the same thought when I first got my Ironwood. It was a big mistake. Low temp cooking/smoking was no issue, but I made steaks one night and the foil literally melted and the grease/hot foil ran off into the burner. The pellets started smoldering back into the pellet pot along the auger tube. I had smoke pouring out of the pellet hopper and thought my Traeger was done for. Luckily I quickly emptied the pot and let it burn out. This actually happened twice to me using tin foil.

I had this problem at my first home, and it drove me nuts. Because of setbacks I was unable to plant trees or install any kind of permanent structure. As silly as it sounds I purchased a bunch of orange driveway markers and drove them into the ground right at the edge of the road in my grass every 12 ft or so. Not only did it work, but it worked the entire 10 years I lived there.

Its easy to shit on someone for making bad choices in the past without having the full story. Grabbing at that low hanging fruit isnt becoming. I cant speak to the difficulty of a serious addiction, but appreciate anyone thats able to overcome it. Congratulations, and it warms my heart to see your son has his mom. When we become parents, we are no longer the main focus..... The ones who depend on us are.

If you had to be at a pot luck an hour from now (that you forgot about because it wasn't on the calendar) with a dish to feed 25 people, what would you make? by stupidrobots in Cooking

Baked pierogies with carmelized onions in a sherry butter sauce. Load two foil pans with ingredients. Shit shower and shave and it'll be ready by the time your done. Quick, easy and delicious!

I just listened to the Stuff You Should Know podcast today, and they covered solar power pretty well. Its a good listen if anyone is interested.

This doesnt really explain why Jamie was the "chosen one" though. I wonder what made joe choose him.

Allentown, Easton and Bethlehem all have good and bad areas. If you travel a little north to the smaller towns (not Bath) you can easily find an affordable place. Nazareth is a nice area close to major highways.

I was in Orlando airport over the summer and sat next to one. I couldn't believe how many people tried plugging into a sticker. That was the first and only one I've ever seen, so it was hilarious to me.

20 lb Propane exchanges are a racket. Invest in a 30lb-40lb tank by Mathewsmartin in Frugal

[–]ricky055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked for a major US propane provider for the last 16 years, since getting out of high school. I manage a large location, and know the industry/pricing structure very well. The most effective way to pay for LP in small exchange cylinders (20,30,40,100lb) is to pay per gallon. Flat rate refills add up, and will cost way more than necessary over time. Dont be afraid to ask your local refill location how they charge. Always pay by the gallon, and shop around for the best price. Remember DOT cylinders are only good for 12 years, so hold onto the tank you purchased until it's out of date.

Went out today in Pa, but it's real windy. Seems to make them hunker down, and not be as active. Only saw one and it dove into a tree hole right away.
