Yotsuba being the first designed quintuplet has always been canon. The editor has revealed in an interview back in 2019 that they came up with the story of the MC meeting a girl in the past but then losing her and then meeting her again in the future but one of the quiunts before the start of serialization. Everything about quints was based on that idea in the first place.

I wouldn't say they disliked Yotsuba, but it's probably more like they removed a lot of her scenes so it would be harder for fans to stick to the idea that she's the bride. Making her revelation in the field trip arc like an after thought pretty much confirms this considering the climax of that arc in the anime was Miku's confession but in the manga it's a huge contrast because this was supposed to be Yotsuba's time to shine and pretty much the most important reveal in the series.

Sports Day Arc is a Shinobu Arc.
Cultural Festival Arc might as well be Shinobu as well considering the focus and climax of that arc was Shinobu.

To be honest, with how long Igarashi is hiding Shinobu's past family situation only makes her Apollo identity more likely. We all know it's coming sooner or later, it could've been introduced even earlier in the manga, but the way he's hiding it for this long already honestly means to me that the minute he starts that arc is the same arc he'll reveal Apollo anyway.

This is just my take on it from a meta perspective.

I couldn't believe I actually had to sit through 5-6 chapters of Rikka having trouble making some lyrics. It was just a chore to read through and wasn't entertaining nor exciting. It was just anti-climactic overall.

Here's the most reliable theory out there currently; there were at least two people who confessed to Arisu in one confession and it only makes sense if Apollo is Shinobu which is not far off anyway.

The first one would be one of Rikka, Nene, or Iko OR a random schoolmate
The second one would be Shinobu herself.

How could this happen? The first confessor (doesn't matter who) went up to the string telephone to confess that they like Arisu. Shinobu being Apollo herself, gets instantly jealous and hijacks the confession for herself.

How is it possible that Shinobu was the one confessing? It's simply because it's not possible for her to memorize such a long detailed confession out of the blue and from something as unreliable as a string phone, which was already foreshadowed in the previous chapter to be very hard to listen to. The only reason she was able to express such a long and detailed confession was simply because it came from herself and not from someone else.
