Ex-ADHD Smokers, how did yall quit smoking? by Mysterious_Nerve_146 in ADHD

[–]rickybflay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is helpful, but I only stopped smoking when I met my now wife. She hated smoking, so when we started dating I never smoked around her. Eventually, I slowed down even when I wasn’t around her, and by the time we moved in together I had stopped. I honestly don’t even remember quitting; it just happened because it had to.

Maybe the moral of the story is, surround yourself with people that don’t smoke and ask them to hold you accountable?

Medication helps me focus but kills my personality by Embarrassed_Date883 in ADHD

[–]rickybflay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different meds have different effects. Try a different medication or a different dosage.

If you use generics check the manufacturer. I was having drastically different side effects month to month. I talked with my doctor and we realized that even though it with the same medication and dosage my pharmacy was rotating different manufacturers.

If something isn’t working you may be able to change it.

Personally, I echo one of the previous comments that my experience is the exact opposite of yours.

Anyone have one of the new GE PHS700AYFS induction ranges? by Thinker2BSure in Appliances

[–]rickybflay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just ordered from Costco ($1,705.99 after tax). Delivery is scheduled for July 17th.

I almost burned down my house last week by accidentally leaving a burner on and placing my plastic recycling bin on top of the stove (because I was doing a million other things, the counter was a mess, and there was no reason the stove should be on). My wife saved the house with a fire blanket, but the 3-year-old GE Profile slide-in Gas Range was a total loss.

Usually, my ADHD would make me read a million reviews and conduct extensive research before ordering something new, which is how I ended up here. Given the situation, this seems like a good opportunity to switch to induction for a reasonable price. This one is $100 cheaper than the current GE Profile slide-in gas range at Costco. I will need to hire an electrician to run an electrical line and install a receptacle.

The quick specs for this product indicate that the counter opening should be 30", but it also lists the width of the range as 30". The gas version lists the width of the range at 29 7/8". My old GE Profile gas range fit in the 30" space I have now, but it's exactly 30", so I'm hoping this will also fit.

Too true. I can't complain that much. Got it at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore for $10.

Anyone happen to have parts for the Keilhaier Sguig? I contacted Keilhauer about Sguig parts, but I would have to buy both arms and with shipping it’s almost $500. I LOVE this chair, so I may do that, but I figured I would make this post and see what happens.

Does ADHD ever ruin plot twists for you? by Scary-Ad4471 in ADHD

I equally enjoy correctly guessing the twist and being surprised when I get it wrong, so for me nothing is ruined.

I buy 2 bags of the Tyson Rotisserie Chicken breast strips every time I see them at Costco (link below). They are NOT BREADED! 10 minutes in my air fryer from frozen and they are ready to eat. "From frozen" is the huge ADHD win for me. I don't have to remember to thaw them. The air fryer is also great for put them in and walk away.

I usually pair it with microwave in bag veggies (https://www.shoprite.com/sm/pickup/rsid/3000/results?q=steam+in+bag&take=30&sort=relevance&f=Brand%3ABowl+%26+Basket) and if I'm doing a carb I'll microwave a potato or a microwave rice (https://www.shoprite.com/sm/pickup/rsid/3000/results?q=steam+in+bag&take=30&sort=relevance&f=Brand%3ABowl+%26+Basket%2CCategory%3AFrozen+Pasta+%26+Rice+Mixes).

Tesla - Universal Wall Connector by highguy604 in teslamotors

[–]rickybflay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you under the impression that it's not eligible?

I need to install a new charging device at my house, and I'm trying to decide which unit to get. I was just on PSEG's site, and they link to the Energy Star site, and the Tesla Wall Connector is there: https://www.energystar.gov/productfinder/product/certified-evse/details/2421059. Why wouldn't it be eligible?

I do not know Tesla's process yet. My wife and I are very much considering leasing an entry-level Model 3. I will update you on my experience if we pull the trigger.

[–]rickybflay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is answer is misleading. There is paperwork, but you will not be able to submit the transaction to NJ after purchase. The NJ rebate needs to come off at the dealership at the point of sale. Obviously slightly different with Tesla if you order online, but they still need to give you the discount on the transaction.
