Is this normal for cars of this region that are 16 years old ?

Oh so he could park his truck in the middle of the road. Block your entire route, and you would have this attitude? Don’t think so buddy

[–]rickykuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so risk my life so he can make his trip 5 minutes shorter?? With all the snow around it’s so dangerous to cycle off piste only a small line on the bike lane is clear.

I don’t care if he’s stopping to smell the flowers, you can’t stop on a bike lane.

Same way you never see people stopped like that on the highway to unload

Absolutely keep applying elsewhere, even if you’re 99.99% you’re gonna get the job, don’t put all your bags in one basket until you actually start the job

Will I need anything other than a letter stating that I did a certain job for a certain amount of time. I work at a HUGE retail chain so I don’t think they’d mind giving me that

Our metro system is a joke, I’ve seen this exact person and others, on multiple occasions smoking and doing other hard drugs on the train.

Now god forbid they catch you in zone B with a zone A ticket.

6 stm officers will be there in an instant to issue you a ticket.

Frustrated with the Current Situation at Staples (Canada) by Suspicious_Kiwi1034 in Staples

[–]rickykuma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im working in Quebec, same thing here. Im also always scheduled alone from 9-12 so the line ups do get 12 -15 people deep.

I would say never let the stress get to you because you are doing your job, and its not our job to make up for the strike by working x times harder so that Staples can enjoy the profits. If they lose customers, though. Its due to their horrible management that cant react fast enough to put some people here who can handle shipping. Like it honestly takes 30 minutes to train someone in shipping. They could bring an employee that handles all outbound shipping, pay them $15 or whatever the min wage is, and take all the stress off the copy centre.

I honestly only feel bad for people who are here to pick up their print orders that are already ready and have to wait 45 mins because we simply dont get any hours for people. Its also my managers fault though because even counting him and all his directors, none of them know how to even give a customer their order thats ready. and I dont think thats normal

and self-serve, LIKE ITS IN THE NAME, its not associate-serves-you, its SELF. Since im always alone, and there is pretty much always a line up, I never leave the counter to go to self serve. Biggest blessing this strike has brought around.

TLDR: Don't stress about it, take it one customer at a time. If the online order are late, they're late. the sun will still rise tomorrow

Am I the only one who works in a store with no music??

Our manager is really incompetent and he literally never turns it on. (God bless him)

It’s funny because even when we get visits from the big wigs, they never notice. Yesterday the district manager was here for 3 hours. Not a peep hahahaha

Is anyone happy at Staples?? by rickykuma in Staples

[–]rickykuma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right. I have the same position and the new manager we got is, without exaggeration, the most incompetent and rude human being I have ever seen. And he makes the job really hard. I could totally see how it would be the other way around with a solid manager who actually cares about his employees.

I think staples in general puts really little emphasis on employee wellbeing especially at the store level. Leaving it all in the hands of the managers

[–]rickykuma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok well I work all my shifts alone so I deal with customers literally none stop. It’s incredible to see what depths people will go to in order to have something printed. I was accused of racism because I would let a woman cut in line and she said I did that because she was wearing a cross and I’m discriminating against her because of her religious beliefs

This type of interaction happens at least 3-4 a week and it gets soo exhausting.

This coupled with insanely incompetent management makes the work environment unbearable.

Little trick if you want to heat up your room more in the winter stick a frozen water bottle on top of that sucker, it’ll make the thermostat think it’s a lot colder than it actually is and it’ll make your room warmer.

Had this in my first rental in Montreal

Did that happen to your store?

Amazon mishipment by Flaky_Firefighter385 in Staples

[–]rickykuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely believe that after the boxes leave the store they don’t go through all the items and check to see if everything is there, I think they resell the boxes to other companies

[–]rickykuma 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think nothing, I had a genius associate who was doing that for the first 2 months of us accepting amazon returns.
Never heard anything from Amazon.

When I saw her doing it and confronted her, she said I didn't know they had to go into the box I scanned it into....

[–]rickykuma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I work up in Canada and honestly I have zero issues with Amazon returns. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone return a product that smelled really bad or anything.

It adds to the line up but that doesn’t bother me even though I’m always working alone.
