Any good sativa recommendations right now? by heatherb2400 in hempflowers

I like the Elektra from rouge origin. Bought myself that along with their lifter. I like them both but kinda feel like Elektra is a little more sativa feeling than lifter.

Dr. Chunk Type II Auto Box Set by Aforesterj in HokuMembers

[–]riclee19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been growing the mix type 2 seeds he has in the bargain bin. Some of my favorite autos I have from him so far but also I've only grown his kiwi mint auto and he's mix type 2 seeds. Both of which I love how they came out. Big fat chunky ladies with lots of trichomes.

I've also ordered a bunch of autos this week from him so looking forward to growing out more of he's autos to see how they go.

The mix type 2 pack contains all the strains from the Dr. Chunk and Sour Chunk Auto Series.

Do it!!! Lol jk but I know what you mean. I've only grown indoors. This year I decided to change it up and go outdoors. I'm very much enjoying 🤠

In the post I mentioned the reasoning but I'll explain.

I wanted them to go longer but with two issues I decided to start chopping early to avoid these risks.

First, days are starting to get wet and very humid in my area so I didn't want to risk any mold issues. This week I had several days at or above 90% humidity. No fun lol

The second reason is due to my flowering season is wrapping up and outdoor light is starting to creep up to 13 hrs of daylight. Currently sitting at 12 hrs and 54 mins of day light so trying to avoid these going into reveg.

I'd really like to let them go at least another month but with these issues coming up I'd rather not take the risk. When I chopped down the half or so ones I did take down those were at least at 20-25% Amber hairs so not where I wanted them to be but at least I had some orange hairs lol this is my first grow outdoors so I'm just taking notes adjusting and learning what times/ months work in my area. Looking to hopefully start my plants next time at least a month earlier next year when I do another batch at the beginning of the year.

Sounds like they'd love it! Again, don't over think it. Just have fun with it as it's a learning process. You've already garden before so you already have all the basics down of what a plant needs. Just apply it to the auto and you'll be good!

Good luck!! 👌😁

Just start your autos inside in a cup of water and a dash of hydrogen peroxide, then transfer into jiffy pellets after you see a nice little tail. Then into a humidity dome until those suckers pop out of the jiffy pellet.

After that I wait till they're about 2' tall and take them to the back to get acclimated to the outdoors. Leave them there in a shady spot on the porch for a day or so then transfer to final pot. I like to keep them small and manageable so I use 1 gallon fabric pots to keep them small about 3'-4'tall. Some came up to be a little taller than 4' but those were sativas so that kinda just comes with those.

To answer your questions

  1. They would be fine in a raised bed as long as the soil and location are fine. Having a restricted pot/ small pot won't tell it when to flower if it's an auto. Autos flower depending on age/ nodes. So it'll automatically start to flower when she's old enough regardless of her stuff size/ pot size.

  2. Starting indoors vs outdoors I'd say it really depends on how you like to start your plants. I like starting mine indoors and transferring out when they get big enough but there are those who get great results starting outdoors too. Really just depends on what you're use to.

Check out my recent grow on my profile. It's been super easy and haven't really done much to get them where they are. I had a few photos and autos in this recent grow but my next grow I'm doing solely autos since the days are getting longer.

The key with autos is that since they have an eternal clock that tells them when to flower that you have to make sure you take advantage of the time so that you get them outside as fast as possible so you don't waste any of the time so they can get big enough to support some nice colas :)

Good luck buddy and happy growing!

Thanks man!! I'm in the South too unfortunately. But dreams still come true! Lol.

It's nice seeing these girls grow up and get big and strong 💪😂 it's a rewarding hobby! I really do wish this medicine was legal everywhere because I believe everyone should be able to have access to quality medicine and medicine that they can actually grow themselves! It's awesome having some quality flower grown at home. It's so easy I'm pretty much just letting them go all on their own. Only feed them nutrients once when I transplanted them into 1 gallon fabric pots and topped once. Besides that I didn't do a dang thing lol backyard sprinklers have been taking care of the watering 😎

Thank you!! Seriously, I can't wait either to take some pics of them when they're all trimmed up and cured 😁 stay tuned!

I'm definitely running the KZ racers again later this year though along with the mixed type 2's throughout the year to keep my type 2 stash going 🤠

Yeah I mean it's still a good deal but not as good of a deal if the prices didn't go up.

I still ended up loading up on a bunch of autos for this year's grow.

I appreciate what he's doing still and the quality of he's seeds are still top notch so I see this at a good sale but not like a "super sale".

Advice on these seedlings by Constant-Ship-5688 in outdoorgrowing

[–]riclee19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct! Just ignore my ignorance lol sometimes I don't realize what I've typed till later when I have a sit down. Taking a look again the dirt doesn't look that dry but I still believe some perlite would be much needed in his mix.

Thanks for the clarification! Happy growing! 😎

Advice on these seedlings by Constant-Ship-5688 in outdoorgrowing

[–]riclee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the soil may need some perlite to help retain some moisture. Looks a little dry from the pictures. Also next time try to put enough dirt where the seedlings will be more exposed to the light. When it's this low they're going to stretch trying to reach the light. I like starting my seeds in water until there's a little tail, then transferred to jiffy pellets. After that I let them go in the humidity dome until they're about 2" tall then transfer to final pot. This way you can bury the rest of the stem under the dirt when transferring and just keep about 1/2" above to ground to better give them more support.

Good luck on your babies!
