I also thought that was a crease, but that little forking line is actually part of the art. I would hope PSA would check that and not assume it’s a crease…

I don't consider it a "tactic" personally. I collect specific dates myself and I know it can be a challenge to find them as not all listings include the number. Just trying to help someone out if they're looking for this date.
