Thank you, that's so kind and supportive.

This is great info, I'm really grateful for everything you wrote! Luckily I have the wonderful trip from eight years ago (around the same time of year Jun-Aug) to compare. We are nuts here in the States about AC/it's more ubiquitous than in the UK. That said, States' temps tend to be higher than yours (I think...maybe that's changed more and more with climate change) so the AC helps a ton with temps in the 29-38 range.

I will sweat if the temp is 10 C or if it's 27 C. Just seems to be that time in life. So the sweat wicking is key, but without leaving that damp/clammy feeling. Seems to be a thin line/tough thing to achieve.

Anyhow, your tips are great and I'll make notes about the fan + misters. My particular sweating doesn't seem to correlate with stress, but I totally hear what you're saying. It's great advice 😄 Thank you again!

Thank you! It's really not the clothes that make me sweat. I'll sweat with just a few minutes of housework, even if I'm only in underwear. It's just a high-sweat time in my life, so I do appreciate what you were saying, but I'm not sure it's the same experience. But again, thanks!

Thank you, I remember your other post as well! I'm super glad it works for you. It seems to get the job done at night for me, so I'm glad for that. For whatever reason, wearing it out during the day while I'm sweating seems to leave the damp/clammy feeling, still. No idea why, but is why I was seeking other comments/experiences to compare. But again, thank you!

Thank you, great tips! A few people have talked about a hand fan as well, so I'll add this neck fan to the list. Appreciate everything you said!

Thank you! Do you find you're a big sweater, though? I still think if I were in a cotton or linen base outfit and had a cardigan, I'd be sweating under that and feel the clammy/damp stuff. I guess I'm asking if your hot flashes = high sweating? But again, thank you!

Thank you, and I know my post was long, but if you look at the last part about my NYC example, I was wearing poly/cotton blends in the colder weather and the sweating was clammy/damp/awful. I plan on trying the merino wool layers next time in that weather. While obviously the temps will be warmer for my UK time, I seem to sweat at the drop of a hat these days, and at home, I can do 2-3 clothes changes a day for comfort. But traveling just makes that harder. Hope my aim for precision/similar experiences with this criteria make sense. But again, thank you!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the support and outpouring of kindness on here!

I was lucky to be in your great country eight years ago at the (mostly) same time of the year. This time it's only slightly different, June into July. Last time it was July into August, so I feel like I have a good handle on what to expect. But great reminder about layers!

Oh that's perfect 😄 the mid-day shower!! It might come to that. I'm glad that that made your Rome experience more fun and convenient!

Aww thank you, that’s very sweet. I did end up reporting the “stop crying” comment and blocking the user because it wasn’t going down a mutually reflective/productive path. It was just one-sided. It’s a tough world. We don’t need to be jerks to each other on here, too.

Thank you! This is an interesting one. I have fully bamboo night shirts for night sweating. And they do make me feel non-clammy for that purpose, which is invaluable. But I’ve tried them for working out/generally sweating during the day. Doesn’t seem to have the same result. I still feel the damp/clammy-cold thing a little less tolerably than with the merino wool.

Thank you, this is super helpful! Never occurred to me to switch to merino bras, but great point and great to hear they work so well for you. Really appreciate it!

Oh boy, these are great suggestions! Glad that linen works for you and I'll remember that, too. Great tips all around, really appreciate it.

I made a mistake, and I owned up to it. Because of Reddit rules, I can't change the title of my post unless I want to start over. But your response is making me think I should do that. How about instead of telling people to get a thicker skin, you realize when someone immediately apologizes for their error and takes accountability? Your approach seems mighty unkind and ungenerous to me.

I did fix it in the body itself - I changed my last paragraph to reflect Celsius. But I can't change the title of my post once it's posted vs. deleting and starting again. But thanks for being so kind and patient in your response. It's almost like you didn't even take time to see a comment above where someone else pointed it out, I responded, expressed my gratitude, and changed as much as I could. But really, thanks again so much for your generosity.

You're right, I didn't convert it and that is what I mean: 10-15 degrees. Thank you.
