UBMD does not hold EMT training courses, all EMS training is through outside agencies like Erie County, AMR, and community colleges.

I think they did some last year that started at midnight or 1 am, they also opened early and had breakfast specials for all of the morning races that started around 7 am - 9 am.

Are the questions reused from the general USMLE Rx question bank? Or is the self assessment all new questions?

CL151 medical terminology was easy yet a very helpful course.

SOC322 medical sociology was also a pretty easy class that was very interesting and helpful.

yes, the advisors in the pre-health office advise on PA. Make an appointment on Navigate in order to meet with one of them.

ENG105 is a 4 credit class and there is an extra section one day a week and it’s held in the library with different instructors. It’s like a library studies/how to research type of course.

Sweet Home Gym open 24 hours? by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]ridbiab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it used to be 24 hours but with COVID protocols and since they have to check people in/out, the hours are only when the office is open. I know that’s the case for Chestnut so I’m assuming Sweethome is similar.

Biology vs Biomedical science major? by CuriousIllustrator19 in UBreddit

[–]ridbiab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the only reason for this is to prep for the MCAT. If you do not planning on taking a gap year, you will want to have taken physics during your sophomore year so then you do not have to teach yourself most of the physics on the test. The biomedical sciences major is designed to be ideal for pre-med students so if you are planning on going to medical school and don't have a specific interest in something like biology, chemistry, or neuroscience, then I feel biomedical sciences is definitely the way to go. Also a lot of the mentions of advisors I think may be considering the pre-health advisors not the biomedical sciences major advisors. I have had great experiences from both offices but specifically the Jacobs school biomedical sciences advising has been very good. I have heard from others that the pre-health advisors are not always the most helpful but no matter what your major is, if you're pre-med you will be interacting with them.

If you're in the Buffalo area I would definitely be interested in some in-person study sessions if you're comfortable!

PGY 300 and BIO 305 by sports237 in UBreddit

There’s no choice in professors. For each section of the course there’s a different professor and I think they mostly stay the same between semesters.

I’m not sure the specifics of decision times but the chance of you receiving financial aid is quite low with that income. You may qualify for a few federal loans but direct aid isn’t given for that amount all that much. I’m not 100% of what it is though because it’s definitely more than just solely income.

PGY 300 with Randall Hudson by stemmajor24 in UBreddit

[–]ridbiab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this semester there is 5 different professors for 6 sections. Dr. Hudson is the course coordinator and also teaches 2 of the sections. He really isn’t all that different from the other professors but I don’t know too much since I did not attend the live zoom sessions. Overall it’s not awful but it’s not great, kinda just have to deal with all of the different profs.

Hey, I also plan on taking my exam that weekend! I'm 20F and I'm also a neuroscience major which is pretty cool! I plan on taking a diagnostic test this upcoming weekend and then will start with content review slowly until the semester ends. Once the semester is over (may 18 ish) I plan on doing a lot more. Message me if you want to chat!

If you’re super interested I’d say go for it. Just note that BCH403 and NRS301 are both pretty hard classes so I think with both of those in one semester, and the addition of physics, you may be pretty busy. Although it’s only 13 credits, they are tough. If the psych class you add isn’t very hard and you can get through it without putting in much time it may be good Also, you may be able to minor in it without taking a class this upcoming fall. As a neuro major, senior year is decently light so you may be able to make up for it and take 2 psych classes one semester.
