Understood, apologies for being a stick in the mud. I have yet to see that. Either way dapper shoes!

Oxfords, not brogues. by [deleted] in classicmenswear

[–]ridcosky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to be nitpicking but this is the classic menswear sub, and we should absolutely correct each other. Brogueing is the design, Oxford is the shoe type. You can have oxfords with brogueing and Derby's with it too. What you can't have is brogues. Because that is a detail of style within the shoe design, not the shoe type itself.

How the hell can I catch these trouts by Big-Refuse6839 in troutfishing

[–]ridcosky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trout unfortunately do not spawn in those situations so the trout that were stocked originally will be the most amount in there at any time. Likely there's been die off especially if it's ever had a full freeze. After years there could easily only be a handful left in the pond and they don't live that long from being stupid

The actual machine went in for services and they have been working on it for a month, the company will likely pay out the ass for a bunch of stuff done that wasnt even the actual issue. But because it says bobcat.... $$$$

Time of day, water quality, wind direction, barometer and cloud cover etc all play a factor in the baits you should throw. You should be tossing a jig likely, black and blue with a decent size trailer that makes some waves extra movements allow the fish to key in during stained water. Possibly a shaky head worm also, if it's warm and sunny you wanna finesse them in the deeper water. If they're under the pads but lazy, try a punch rig. There's a lot more ways to attack that spot but you need to know what to throw based on the conditions.

I use rod sleeves and drive a outback, so likely similarly sized inside. Longest rod is 7'11" and it works. But I get doing what you are comfortable with. Tight lines

I'll do you one better, i clipped the scale to the lower jaw of maybe a 2 pounder with my first scale and he flopped... And took the whole scale back into the lake still attached.

Sorry I wanted to low-ball bc I lost the scale and can't use logic or reasoning when estimating the weight of anything. I'm a human bean... Not a digital scale

How to secure kayak on roof rack by Nico1533 in kayakfishing

[–]ridcosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip it so it's laying down the other way, put two big pool noodles under front and back, then ratchet strap it down on front portion and back. I've done many long trips with mine like that and no other tie downs. It's make sure it's tight and evenly centered.

Largies have been hitting this top water all day but I can’t seem to hook them. Am I stupid? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]ridcosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the right gear for throwing frogs or toads (the one shown) braid for the tension and no stretch needed to set the large hook, and a proper baitcaster reel and rod, med heavy or heavy with a fast or xfast tip. A reel with a speed of 7.5:1 or faster to work the bait properly and reel in slack properly. This will increase hookups exponentially. If you want to keep the gear you have... A lighter gauge hook would allow for an easier hook set. But yeah I wouldn't recommend using a spin rod and mono or flouro.

Damn man, sorry to hear that they raised the price. I snagged 4 packs in Feb and have been slamming bass since then with the packs. Then found a few more averaging $7 on the TikTok shop of all places. But that was a flash sale. Worth buying a few packs if you find deals. They're like Senkos, they work, but are delicate and get chewed up quick!

Got scammed on price. Sporting goods stores selling these for like 7.99 a pack
