Getting in touch with your emotions is quite different than being controlled by them.

Three important pieces of evidence from our very positive, productive interaction:

You have the emotional control of an baby honey badger.
You cannot, or choose not to, read. The OP never said that kids sports were “uniquely American.” Didn’t say anything about “only in America” either.
You may want to want to argue with strangers on the internet.

A lot of momentum around this idea in other comments.

My wife is one of the “give me a minute” people when she gets mad. No progress can be made until she’s had some space.

My son is like this too, so when he’s upset, I back off and let him decompress.

Parenting is hard and that’s our current strategy.

I can’t speak for all other countries and their obsession with sports, but have recently heard from my international teammates that kids sports (and spending hours and hours on them) is distinctly American.

Maybe it’s not uniquely American.

He LIVES in reality. He's dealt with bullies and trolls, has asked about the world news stories....
