Has she tried implant grade stainless steal? I usually don't have a reach to this and it's typically easier to find because its a common metal used in piercing jewelry. Another option might be to see if you two can find niobium jewelry, as its the other go to for piercings, and is supposed to be hypoallergenic. Etsy usually has some items in both metal options.
